The little "No!" I yelled out when you had to powerwash the paint off, definitely been there with my own work. She turned out absolutely gorgeous though, very 1920's glam. Might I suggest the name Marilyn, after another shining star? She's beautiful ✨

You know, that period of time when jobs were impossible to obtain, and people would literally sell their children to get by? Oh, and don't forget WW2 which followed immediately after that. Not a great time.

You can make a mold of the 3D print once you get it to the desired smoothness. It’ll save you a lot of time and labor.

Resin prints cost more and takes more time than a 3D printer so it wouldn't be that efective, also resin print are often soft like rubber and paint cannot stick to it

@@JyraffQueenOp was talking about resin CASTING, not resin PRINTING. Different things. But the thing about resin is that it’s pricey and toxic. Even if they made resin printers large enough to print the whole mask in one go, which I’m pretty sure they don’t, the amount of resin required would be SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than FDM printer filament like we see here. A resin cast could definitely work, and would allow him to produce more mask bases at a time, but still has the problem of being pretty costly in comparison to FDM printing. And neither of these methods would even be possible without the artist setting up a dedicated work area with some kind of system for ventilating fumes outside. FDM printing is the most economical option with the least setup required.

I found the 3D print lines very interesting, like a symmetrical wood in face shape, make some antlers and take inspiration from tribal style it can become gorgeous and wild.

That does sound pretty! Perhaps a wood grain painted texture would work better? As the person above me mentioned it might not work with the layer lines, despite the negative replies I think it’s a great idea!

This reminds me of the masks my grandmother used to cast in porcelain! She would hand paint each one individually and they were always so pretty. It's so cool seeing someone do the same kind of idea with modern printing processes.
