Man, I love this dude's material. It's worth mentioning that he is always surrounded by solid musicians, so the contribution of his band members should not be overlooked. They too are incredible....or Butch probably wouldn't be teaming with them. He's been in the game enough to know who is solid.

I first met Butch back in 1996 in Lawrence KS when he was I FFR and I must say he just gets better with age. If you ever have a chance to go see him live don't let it pass you by! Best live show I've ever been to, love you Butch! But I loved Slug more!

Rolling Stone producer of the year in 2005. his last 2 albums went to number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. his list of bands/musicians that he's produced and/or cowrote albums with is a mile long. chosen as a judge for the Independent Music Awards more than once, and on CBS' Rock Star: Supernova with Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke, and Jason Newsted. then he produced the album that followed the show. pretty successful.

guess you don't know much about Butch if you think that he resents not being more successful. he is resentful towards the music industry, and goes into great detail in his book about why and what's wrong with the entire setup. if your opinion is he's just a hipster with cool gear, that's your right but the overwhelming consensus I've seen and heard is he's one of the best writers/entertainers/producers we have. and he'll be the first to tell you he's from GA, enjoys CA but not LA if I recall

Reading previous comments from the individual known as dare devil. Holy cow Butch isn't even remotely in the same league as Maroon 5 or John Mayer so you can't even compare. Butch Walker is also know as the " musicians musician" if that better explains it. Butch is way beyond the level of Maroon 5 and John Mayer.

You must not understand how it is to be a musician, we don't care about the quantity of people watching, we just want the ones who hear it;to like it. Your saying cmon he's playing a mandolin......how does that make any sense. Do you only listen to one kind of music? Many bands/artists have mandolin players, when you start playing one instrument you want to learn another. You clearly don't understand the art.

Wow, speaking of not paying attention. My youtube account, Facebook, etc, all have my face on it. Sorry bud. No flannel, never had glasses. But thanks for passing judgement without any facts. And no, I'm not judging your musical taste or your experience. You're the one making inflammatory comments on a successful artist in order to experience the attention you obviously aren't getting. your opinion about Butch is misinformed, and your delivery of that opinion is juvenile. I'm done.
@cubadorian15310 жыл бұрын
i dont give a crap about how he dresses just about the music because if that was the case i wouldnt listen to a ton of artists.
@seifs412 жыл бұрын
I don't understand your logic at all. He doesn't make POP music and clearly he's fine with that or he wouldn't be using mandolins and banjos in his band. Everyone knows that now adays if you wanna be famous all you have to do is have a computer with music software. You don't even need instruments......your argument makes no sense. He's produced many famous records/songs, I'm sure he doesn't care about fame thats why he produces and sits behind the computer....
@Preacher6512 жыл бұрын
Here's a news flash for you friend: Butch still plays his music, and sells out shows. But here's the kicker;, he also produces most of the albums made by what you call "real talent." Get it? Your "real talent" sounds just like all those tired LA hipster wannabe sellouts before he puts his talent into it. And me? I barely listen to his music. But I've been around long enough to know what real talent is, and he has it. The only bitter person here is you.
@neoplisken12 жыл бұрын
So I am going to point out to everyone that wants to speak against daredevillv. Just ignore him since all he really wants is attention since his own music is either poor or nonexistent.

You really do enjoy the attention you get from deliberately baiting people, don't you? Let's see: You have absolutely NO videos up of your own music, and in your one playlist, one of the videos is a guitar lesson on how to play a Miley Cyrus song. Is she one of the legends you're referring to? Please, you have no weight to be throwing around here. Come back when you actually have some experience to draw on.
