Thanks for this reaction. The Plasmatics were from a time when nobody cared if you got offended. Wendy was warned by the cops after a performance about the whipped cream and they told her she needs to wear a shirt. The next day she was on stage wearing a clear plastic shirt. She was a gentle sweetheart and loved animals. RIP Wendy..... we need someone like her today to pull modern music out of the corporate milk toast homogeny of ultra processed drum tracks and sampling.

Her SHIRT response! :) Great ways to poke holes in culture and start a conversation by following the "rules". HA! Thank you for watching and for a great and thoughtful comment. :)

@@JudyAdele "Poking holes" in culture is kind of the cornerstone of the Punk movement. But few of them were interested in the "conversation" part of it. It was more of a statement saying "this is what is ridiculous about society, this is my statement on the topic, and fuque you if you don't like it". It was about REAL freedom of speech: saying things that you felt needed to be said even though it would most likely offend many people. It was an expression of the individual human person, not a social drone toeing the established narratives. You could be a "punk" with a mohawk and ripped jeans, or you could be one in a 3 piece suit. Black, white, blue, gay, all were welcome. In fact, the Plasmatics caught heat because they had a black drummer and a gay guitarist. In Punk, it was the attitude that mattered It wasn't about violence as most people assume, unless you consider clothes and words to be literal violence. And if you listen to the lyrics, some of it's political, most of it is social commentary, but almost none of it is about violence. I really miss that late 70's/ 80's. It was a very vibrant time all across society.

@@tjsogmc Ya... what I read about punk when I was a kid...A huge Boy George fan which had me curious about punk... and... I recall reading a story about punk kids... and not so kids.... in London and the misconceptions of what they were about. One person was a story of an office receptionist who had a fun colored mohawk haircut... I thought that was SOO COOL! Thank you for the great comment! :)

Her demise is another example of police corrupting. They killed here and got away with it. I dont care what anyone claims. That's how it was. Rip
