We often speak about the talent of Folau but what an individual player he was... My impression is he wasn't playing for the team but for himself. For exemple, I never ever saw him smile when his team scored an important try but when he scored a try, he was the man the most happy in the world.

Yep, so true. Also many times he ran the ball and would try a reckless offload mid-tackle resulting in loose ball and the team going backwards.

Funny how when we talk about sportsmen like Shane Warne, we forget the corruption, PEDs, and tragic life choices that have real world consequences, but at the end of the day he was a ‘good bloke’ versus when you have a player like Folau who practises what he ‘preaches’ and has the integrity to speak up for what he believes in but he’s a bell end because you don’t have the same opinion?

Some of these were the fault of the support player running to flat of a line. Too often they run a line requiring the perfect pass when a little depth would do

That botched pass by Williams gets worse every time I see it. Wales fans spent weeks online abusing Anthony Watson and Hogg, demanding Williams be included at Fullback. Then he blows the pass that would have won us the series. He was rubbish all tour too. Decent in 2017, but nowhere near the same form last year. Such a bad choice for the final match of that test series. Didn't even prove any more reliable under the high ball either, and that was supposed to be his primary skill set.

I’d have preferred Williams on the wing, but Hogg was not great in the second test so dropping him was justified. Equally you could look at the other try which was disallowed at the maul, score either (or both) of those and the Springboks would have been chasing the game which may have played into the Lions hands, particularly with Russell in a broken match looking for space. Too many “what ifs” though in that match. SA nailed their chances and deserved the series.

Folau was the most funniest one for me lol i watched it live, wallabies were playing multiple phases and it hit the 80th minute.. it was between winning game or going himself for another folau highlight special, he chose himself 🤣

As a Scotland fan I thought this was going to be a Stuart Hogg highlight reel! For the 3:22 one, Sean Lamont’s forward pass, looks like his hands went backwards to me, ball certainly went forwards but I have seen a lot worse than that reviewed by a TMO and given as ok.

To be fair, I think a lot of these were purely down to two factors. 1. The players desire to score 2. They were completely oblivious to the fact they had men outside them. With some exceptions, for instance Israel Folau's one

Every single one of these guys should have been in the stocks in training for the next week. I mean the literal stocks. All and sundry ought to be allowed to throw rotten vegetables at them; to bring in their childrens' dirty nappies from home and just place them under their noses; to casually slap them or give them a boot up the arse; to dowse them in buckets of ice water; to give them a wee pepper spray in the face. This is not acceptable. I couldn't even watch the video past the second minute, I was so disgusted. This cannot be tolerated.

Long before he breached his contract out of vanity, Folau was always a selfish player. In many ways, despite his prodigious talents, he did the wallabies more harm than good, because the game plan degenerated into 'pass it to Israel' (particularly under the strategically inept Cheika) and, paired with Folau's selfishness, it meant that either he scored or nobody scored. The wallabies are better off without him.
