Authentic Indian food probably won’t have butter chicken. Adding cream to Indian dishes was created by the royal chefs of England centuries ago because the Brit’s didn’t tolerate spicy food. English-Indian food is very common though so I’m surprised they didn’t have it on the menu.

Let me give you little tips on eating Indian chicken curry You're supposed to eat the naan seperately and the rice seperately... You don't have to eat all those big pieces of chicken entirely you can break them into pieces and add them to every bite of rice or naan but remember to add a lot of curry. You can experiment with the ratio of rice, chicken and curry and see what tastes best (Obviously none of these are hard and fast rules) Personal tip: Eating with your hands definitely makes the food taste better and once you get habituated to it you'd find it more convenient to eat Indian food and break the chicken into pieces...
