Your cake turned out so pretty & so Yummy😋 looking. My Daughter loves Butter Pecan anything so I am going to make this cake for her birthday. Very innovative and I too am making a boxed, doctored-up cake today. No shame! This one looks exquisite coming out of your oven. So many people watch you, pls consider not tossing your egg shells. Set aside, not in trash can. So simple to tell your watchers to rinse, dry, toss and store in a quart zip lock bag. They get hit with a rolling pin, squished by my grandkids and then out to the garden.

This looks DELICIOUS!!! I'm going to have to try it. As for the people criticizing box cakes, don't worry about them. I make custom cakes for years (fancy ones), and I almost exclusiely used doctored-up cake mixes. And prople raved, and came back time and again. I had to laugh about you saying that if Bryant was there, you'd have to leave some batter in the bowl. I used to live with my sister, and every time I made a chocolate cake, I left a little batter in it for her. 50 year old kid. lol And I eat raw cookie dough, also. I'm 65, and have been doing it all my life. =)

The Mountain Dew pound cake made with boxed lemon cake mix is also very moist and delicious. It is often a favorite cake amongst folks. I have seen the butter pecan cake recipe around for years, but never tried it. You have convinced me. Blessings!!

I make this cake, delicious. After spraying I sprinkle bottom with confectioners sugar and sprinkle chopped pecans on top of sugar then pour cake batter on top. Nice pecan topping. Thanks for sharing

Love Butter Pecan Cake ! I used to make it in a Bundt pan with toasted pecans in the bottom of the pan , then when you flip it out the pecans were on top !! Delicious and pretty !! Never put frosting in the cake mix, but am going to try it !! Thank you for this !!

Love this I make a chocolate cake mix with a can of the coconut pecan frosting and just for the heck of it I throw in a handful of chocolate chips and sprinkle powdered sugar on top after it cools. YUM

I also rinse out any pot, pan, baking dish that I take out of the cupboard because of dust possibly being in there. I have done that all my life. And sometimes I do see a little dust. It's a good clean habit when cooking, to keep everything clean. This cake looks awesome! I will be making one very soon! Blessings and greetings from central Florida.

Finally…it’s in the oven. However, I’m torn over glazing it or not. I think this first time I won’t…just wanna taste it in its purest form. 😂 About the time I put it on the oven, I recalled that it would be good for a potluck. This Sunday we celebrate Reformation Sunday, will have a potluck after worship. Guess I’ll be going back to the store for another box of cake mix. Thanks!

It looks yummy. I also try to balance the remaining eggs in my egg carton so it doesn't tip over when taking it put and putting it in the fridge. PS confections sugar sifted over the top is my favorite icing on cakes rather than frost.

Oh my goodness Leslie, that looks absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to try it. You know, now I’ve never tried this myself, but another lady I watch on KZbin doctors her boxed cake mixes up too. This is how she does it and she says it’s more like a bakery cake. She keeps the actual measurements the same, but then where the directions call for oil, she uses butter and where it calls for water, she uses milk. Then the eggs go in as stated on the box. I’d like to try that as well, I’ve just never gotten to it. Sounds like a great idea, yes?

😲 Never in all my life have I seen anyone put frosting IN a cake. How have I never seen this??!?!!! Better yet, why have I never thought of this?!?!!??? Several months ago I was going to make this cake but Wal-Mart didn't have the cake mix so I used German chocolate mix and it was delicious too. Even my son who hates coconut thought it was delicious! He ate it before I told him it had coconut. 😆

Enjoyed this video a lot and sometimes matter of fact a lot of times these dolled up box cake recipes are better than the homemade I saw a couple things in the comments about sugar and pecans sprinkled in the pan sounds good to me this just looks like if somebody really thought they needed something just a little sifting of powdered sugar over the top to make it look pretty would be more than plenty thanks a lot Leslie
