It’s crazy I’m just finding this song in 2020 but I’m reading all these comments from 6 years ago....this song deserves more.

Even though your faded glow Won't burn through all your bars You put out to put up Even while your widening smile Was shaking in the smoke Your head was full of hope Because I am a member of the butterfly culture Where we work and we take We play and we pray to god That the girl in that dress will undress And distress you with the way that she moves Even now when you know how To measure up the risk You're still not tired of this Even when the pills you take Turn you to a ghost You still spin around the most Because I am a member of the butterfly culture Where we worked and we take We play and we pray to god That the girl in that dress will undress And distress you with the way that she moves I am a member of the butterfly culture Where we work and we take We play and we pray to god That the girl in that dress will undress And distress you with the way that she moves

What upsets me about ur comment is that even though benjamin francis leftwhich is amazing, u need to remember that last year every was saying ed sheeran was amazing because he wasn´t big at that present time. Their is no doubt that ben will be really big soon, but when he does a new person will come in and say that his music ain´t as good as the new guy and the cycle will repeat. You need to take into account that they are both really got artists. Screw that actually maybe u r right

Okay seriously. I get that that could be seen as a hipster thing to say, but it was not a douch-ey thing to say at all. I know for me I am really happy that certain songs are relatively unpopular, but I think I would be just as happy if more people discovered it.

dont you think an artists aim is to reach stardom though? only cause an artist becomes mainstream does not mean they dont have mysterious rhythm and lyrics. Ed sheeran was once undiscovered but even now if you compare his music to his material before becoming extremely well known still contains such emotions in his music

What do you guys feel like this song is about? I think it's about him being someone who goes to the strip club on the weekends. The strippers are drugged up "ghosts" with heads full of hope, whom take their clothes off...something like butterflys. Either that or he's just drugging them up himself.

because a good band getting the recognition they deserve automatically makes them too mainstream and definitely ruins the sound and lyrics the band has -_- being mainstream means you have an un-original sound and sell out to popular current trends. just because a band can be recognized and get big doesn't make them mainstream...
