surprisingly I got cut by a trainer but it wasn’t by the blade, where the screws are holding up the balisong, it pinched between my pinky and opened some skin.

When you have to take blood thinners, the little cuts you get from the knife bleed like crazy. Use a trainer until you're more practiced.

For some reason I really like this move! Its just satisfying to pull off and looks really cool as a combo finisher, imo. Really good tutorial btw! Helped me a lot!

A pro move he didn't mention is you can just make the knife go faster so you cut your fingers cleen of. That way the knife is closed and you can no longer get cut. 😂

Three things: 1. I only use trainers and Iam not interested in sharp blades. I like my fingers. 2. I like the trick. It looks cool. 3. Amazing videos as always. Iam currently learning all your beginner tricks

I know 6 years ago, but i really appreciate how he acknowledges the people who have a live blade when I think most beginners will be learning tricks on trainers. I just dont see why you would want a live blade if you arent actually cutting anything.

I personally use a Bali comb to train, and it still gives that feeling of “ouch” so you know your doing something wrong

So I got my Balisong and is still learning some beginner openings and closings and this move is one of my toughest openings, but I kept practicing and I got the hang of it like when ever I do openings and closings on my Balisong’s my fingers move on command.😂

Live blades are very good for training. Getting the move wrong results in instant pain. Getting the move right is an accomplishment accompanied by the peace of mind knowing you're one step closer to getting it right.

Sounds odd, but even with the risk involved, I had an easy time picking this up. And I think it does kinda look cool due to the horizontal closing combined with the movement of the hand. Although I practicing with a dull knife bc my government doesn't trust me... Even with a dull knife, you can feel if you did it wrong.

whenever im doing a trick with the bite handle i usually toss it up and catch it by the safe handle if it's coming at my fingies

From i got my first balisong (sheap, honed, even) Unless i am doing something specific stfter, I never fully wrap my last three finger around the handle any more than that the blade can pass. I Think due to this and my weird wristpassses. I mostlu just hold the sides in pinch grips no matter, so there are almost no surprises.. It is probably "wrong " to someone, but I tworiks

There's a thing called trainer my friend it's better to use with if you're new since it's called a trainer and you dont get cuts from it but it's still best to lear this to you know be careful and avoid damages

Is using the bite handle just to discipline you and teach you to avoid the blade? Cause I first learned this with the safe handle. And also, are there tricks that absolutely require the wrist pass to be done with the bite handle, or can it be done on the safe? I'd imagine it's all the same due to the symmetry of the knife? Thanks.

I asked the same question. Blade faces backwards if you use the bite handle. Forward if you use the safe one.
