Locs is a protective style in itself. The simple fact of not combing and manipulating your hair it will naturally grow.

What are the benefits? Don't locs grow fast anyway??

Locs do grow faster because they retain length. I refer to this style as a “protective” style because I’m going to start working out soon and I won’t have to worry about lint and dirt getting on my locs, and I won’t have to retwist my Locs for a while. They kinda just give my Locs a break from regular manipulation.

I don't really understand why someone with locs needs a protective style. Doing that style with added hair is more manipulation than needed.

@@francinejackson5148 if it's not for you it's jus not for you. Some ppl do it to get a break from their locs or jus to get a new style. Currently speaking with box braids over my locs.
