I have used the buttermeister for 9 months now. I have one jersey cow and use the gallon size weekly. It took me several tries to find a system that works for me. I collect the cream at 48 hours old each day and I use it at fridge temp for best results. It takes 45 minutes. The butter is amazing. I have to check the lid for tightness during churning.I feel it is noisy and the plastic lid is difficult to clean. Even so I love this churn.

Haha maybe I’m comparing it to using a blender or a food processor, but I find it very quiet. Just a low decibel hum.

Kilner do a manual butter churn for less than $40. I’ve been making butter with that to see if it was something I wanted to do. Turns out it is. So now I’m in market for an electric version. My advice is: start with the cheaper manual churn and see how it goes.
