How dod you make it work on console? Don’t you need a license or some proprietary software for that?
@simracingme11493 жыл бұрын
For Xbox, you just need Project Cars 2

How did you wire it to the circuit sir? I want to make one and I have a wireless keyboard laying around that I can use but don't know how to wire it. Thanks

Thank you Eric John for watching my video...!! The way i did, is just follow the print-lanes from the " foil " inside the keyboard (shown at 2:27) You will see that each button is a combination of 2 pins on the little circuitboard in your keyboard... I made a sheet for my keyboard combinations ( shown at 3:33) Yours can be different !! So the wiring in the Button box is nearly the same as on the foil inside the keyboard.... but i used just 60 keys....

Where did you get the switches and box from?
@simracingme11495 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my video Omar... The push buttons and (cover-) switches comes from Ali (China) / Rotary switches, knobs, box comes from Conrad (Germany) / self adhesive printable paper (selector index and label) comes from Bruna (Netherlands) / Carbon foil comes from Action (Netherlands) / PCB from a Wii keyboard / Wires from a stripped patch cable / Battery holders are cut out as small as possible from and old battery charger.

First of all, congratulations for the project. Fantastic. Could you explain how to connect the encoders? Or put a link to the information on how to do it? As much as I look for I can not find how to do it. It is clear that I do not look well .... Thanks
@simracingme11496 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for watching my video(s) Juan Luis. To give my compact Button Box many functions, i used Rotary Switches (not encoders) for the knobs " Aux 1 ", " Aux 2 " and "Aux 3 "... Each Rotary Switch has 9 positions (12 but i locked them to 9) i named the positions: D, C, B, A, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.... The two little Push Buttons below the turn knobs are used for " + " and " - " each function. so that doubles the functionality to 18 functions for each turn knob. The working: In Project Cars 2 on Xbox i have assigned (e.g.) "Seat Forward/Backward" at Knob " Aux 1 " position " D " .... Now with this knob in that position, i can move the seat forward by pressing the left push button and move it backward by pressing the right Push button.. This gives me with just 3 Rotary Knobs and 6 little pushbuttons, 3x9x2= 54 functions..... ( Even 3x12x2= 72 functions is possible if you want :)) , But keep it clear is my advice )

@@simracingme1149 Thank you very very much. I'll put a rotary switch instead of an encoder, because I do not think you can use an encoder with a keyboard controller. Thanks for everything.

Awesome work mate! Mate can you send me the wiring diagram for this?
@simracingme11495 жыл бұрын
Thank You very much for watching my video..!! For the wiring, i only made the sheet shown at 2:34 in the video. There you can see e.g. that the button [Back Space] is a combination of pin " E " and pin " 10 "... So has every button an unique pin-combination on the little circuit board which i use. This little circuit board comes from an old wireless keyboard made for the " WII "console... When you gonna use a circuit board of another keyboard, you first have to make a sheet like i did.
