It's been a long haul but the day is here! There's a Fire In The Hole!! And she sounds Sweet ! I had to do a few more last minute changes, and then it was time to hear her bark. Buttoned her up, filled her full of fluids, strapped everything down, and let her Rip!! Bammm "Fried Eggs and Ham!!"
Gus, and Martin, come's to visit and they get to hear her run for the first time. So much fun and such a great day. After all the hours and all the work...she sounds Amazing. And someone's a Happy Camper!!

There's another guy I watch. He's out of Southern California, Tatro Machine. I've seen him struggle over the years with the same cam cover problems. So you aren't the only one. It's these new parts manufacturers, they have little or no quality control.

Hi Ralph. Nice job. I noticed you installed a Dyna 2000i ignition. That's a real nice ignition. I'm running one in my FXR. I got it because I origanally put it in my customers bike. He wasn't happy with it 'cause it wasn't kick start friendly. I gave him a Dyna S instead. I found out that they fire after 3 revolutions in order to get the starter up to speed. I found out you can program the feature out through a special Dyna cable that hooks up to your laptop. I mentioned it just in case he's running a kicker. If you run into the same issue.
@itsmytimeletsgo
@itsmytimeletsgo 3 ай бұрын
I know the Dyna "S" is a better system for kick only bikes. Gus is going to have electric start so should not be a problem. But plan to see what I can do tomake it a kicker as well. Thanks for the info, and commenting.
@toddk.5873
@toddk.5873 3 ай бұрын
@@itsmytimeletsgo I remember the old Crane Hi-4 ignitions had a dip switch for kick start mode. The Dyna 2000i doesn't have that dip switch. The cable for the laptop connection used to run around $90. Not sure what they cost today.

Did you edit out the part where you jimmy the cam cover off the motor with a screwdriver?? in-pds, ft-pds, they're all the same to me. The stand-offs that secure the ignition plate in the cam cover are 120 ft-pds.

Hey Ralph! I have a question about Intake Manifold Rubber band Seals. Do you have preference of manufactures? I have a super E, clamps & bands, intake manifold that all came from S&S, the rubber still looks good, but they are 15 years old, and since I have my Top End apart, I am going to replace them. I don't want some cheap rubber that rots away fast. Thanks Man!
