Is that thing a system like a video game cassette that has to be inserted into the unit?

It kinda feels like that. But it is a device where you can buy additional cards for an get new characters. The only downside it you can only get the character on the card that you installed the latest, any previous cards installed you will need to reinsert the card to get those characters. I have some other videos on the Tamagotchi Smart which go more into the basics of the device
