@@brielli6393 Sure! Per the Christian Bible, there was a prophecy about John the Baptist made before his birth (both immediately before: Luke 1:17 and over 600 years before Isaiah 40:3) that he would prepare the people of Israel for Jesus and his teachings. The phrases used are "prepare the way for the Lord" and "he will...make ready a people prepared for the Lord".

I think that, to me, it represents how I know that even if I got everything I wanted, I still wouldn't be taken as seriously as a man would have been, I still would have to keep re-proving myself constantly. I don't wish I was a man, but when I see how perceptions of me are altered because of my gender while I see men being viewed exactly how I want to be viewed, it sometimes feels like I do. I'm not sure if this is what was meant, but it hits close to home for me.

This song and its video works well as a barometer of how likely a person and I are to have compatible personalities/Interests. In my opinion this absolutely leaps over the boundary of music video and lands with both steady feet in the realm of theatrical arts. It is ART. Beyond even that is the badass beauty and grace of using that small space of time allotted a video to also give credit to those who worked beside you to bring a vision to life. There's of course the possibility that this is commonly done in genres I'm unfamiliar with but I know that I personally have never seen this sort of outro before, that gives such clear and artistic credit like that.. maybe Die Antwoord?? Not sure, but this one struck me as particularly unique, it radiates an energy that feels like a skillful balance of power and humility .yeah I ramble, I know. This is a ridiculously verbose way to say good gaht-DAYUM this shit is a factory of badassery and how the fuck DARE I take five fuckin years to notice?????

This says everything that i couldnt find the words for. The rage of having been born a woman, in a world built by men, and feeling such intense jealousy and self-hatred that ill never be a man. When main characters in media default to a man, when ill never be a doctor, lawyer, politician, but a "female" doctor, a "female" lawyer, a "female" politician, when gender roles engrained into society teaches girls and boys that women are less capable or logical or rational, when these boys grow up to see/treat women as a different species entirely, when every author i enjoy writes women more two-dimensionally than their male counterparts. Listening to this i finally feel like a human being, not just a "woman". This sort of media really help me accept the fact that i shouldn't have to be a man to feel like a person.

I love this song so much, it has so much anger but it's not beautiful anger. It's jealous, bitter, spiteful anger that tells a very bitter story without mellowing anything down. Usually when I see angry songs about females it's either romanticized or made to seem like the lady was crazy or it simply doesn't go in-depth into her anger like this. Most times it just tells but this shows and every sentence has so many layers of experience and emotion... Amazing song, Soul searching lyrics... I love your artistry

There’s something about the background music being airy and almost light sounding while simultaneously sounding like someone slowly snapping. It’s so distant and like the innocence of a nursery rhyme, but disconnect and disjointed similar to the female experience of feminine performance. Maybe I’m looking too deeply into this, but you capture the rage simmering in our guts at all times, and the fake laugh and smile we put on to make men feel comfortable even when they’re causing the discomfort themselves. Beautifully done.

I absolutely adore this piece, the lyrics give me life. I think that as women we sometimes compete so hard to be recognized at all that we come to accept recognition as the only possible end goal. Like, on TV, a lot of the time if a girl manages to become “one of the boys” by proving how tough she is then that’s her big accomplishment, she’s learned how to keep up and we’re supposed to celebrate that, but there’s no option for her to surpass them. We just accept our supporting role and scraps of recognition. I don’t really know how to explain it, but there’s a very unique form of empowerment in Brutus’s envy and desperation and rage, even when it’s brutal and pathetic. Just the idea that a woman could be loved and respected enough to be held up as a brother by a powerful patriarch and still yearn for more makes this song a real emotional punch in the gut. I hope I understood a little of what you meant to say with this one, your work is greatly appreciated.

I'm just putting the lyrics because every single one of these lines hit so hard I've been watching him for my entire life I hate the air he breathes His foolish decrees, his words so contrived And I hate the way the townspeople gather outside They hang on every breath Cling to his chest, home to his heart full of pride The oracle told him to beware the Ides And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't wishing for untimely death or demise Or am I just wishing I could be like you? That the people would see me, too, as a poet And not just the muse Oh it's not true, I don't wish harm upon you From birth we've been like brothers of different mothers Within the spirit of the same womb May the gods strike me down if I forsake you Frater meus, you're beautifully made And to you I'm forever grateful I'll never forget that you showed me to make art And I know the love you showed me came From a pure and noble heart I love you, and if you want, I'll call you king But why do I lie awake each night thinking Instead of you, it should be me? Something wicked this way comes And as I set to face it, I'm unsure should I embrace it, should I run? What motivates me? Hatred? Is it love? What's more wrong, that I too wish to be great Or my mother wished she'd had a son? And even if I can't be the one Maybe I could at least help make way for him Until the day that he comes Maybe my name could also be known That I helped return good to the people And restored greatness to Rome Butus! Brutus! Brutus! Brutus! Butus! Brutus! Brutus! Brutus! Butus! Brutus! Brutus! Brutus! Butus! Brutus! Brutus! Brutus! My name is Brutus and my name means heavy So with a heavy heart I'll guide this dagger Into the heart of my enemy My whole life you were a teacher and friend to me Please know my actions are not motivated only by envy I too have a destiny This death will be art The people will speak of this day from near and afar This event will be history And I'll be great too I don't want what you have! I wanna be you! I always knew I could be the one Though I feel the endless pain of being And I am scorched by the sun Of humble origins and born of the cursed sex My name is Brutus, but the people will call me Rex

@@v.xien.that is the shit from twittok. This literally goes on about the envy of womanhood. Just remember that your rage is viewed the same way that you view manlet rage lol. It’s fine to acknowledge your rage, but do not believe that to be consumed by it is to be powerful.
