I just love the artstyle in Ponyo, it's almost as if a child has coloured it in. And so playful and light. Like looking through the world through a child's eye. Thank you for the playlist buuu. If you've ever tried to analyze the background of the water wizard it's more interesting than you think. He eventually fell in love with a sea goddess. Was cursed to always be in water like a fish. Uses his magic to create a breathable atmosphere. His kids are half fish half human. The fish side showing more than the human. His kids obviously hate him as he restrains them in a confined area because their mother is too busy managing the sea affairs and eco system. It's also curious how old is he if you look at the dates of the jars in his well area that manages his home. He uses an old city remains that were destroyed in the great flood and might be a descendent of that society.
