Buxa Jayanti
Buxa Tiger Reserve or Buxa National Park set up at the north-eastern corner of West Bengal bordering Bhutan and Assam in the Alipurduar District is a protected Forest Reserve of Dooars. Buxa Tiger Reserve was created in 1983 as the 15th tiger reserve in India. Before getting the status of National Park, the dense forest of Buxa was once well-known for dolomite mining in the North Bengal Region. Spread over an area of 745 sq km, Buxa is a famous tourist place in North Bengal and Dooars Region. Buxa derived its name from the famous Buxa Fort. Buxa Fort is a historic fort sited midst the dense forest used by the British rulers of India as a high security prison and detention camp in the 1930s. Buxa National Park has a great collection of rare orchids and medicinal plants making it a must visit places in Dooars for the botany enthusiast traveling in North Bengal region. The diversity of mammals in Buxa Tiger Reserve ranks second highest among all the Tiger Reserves of India. Apart from Bengal Tiger, there many exquisite wild animals like leopard, Wild Dogs, Malayan Giant Squirrels, Mongooses, Asian Elephant, Gaur, Hog Deer, Wild Buffalo, 3 varieties of Pythons, Monitor Lizard and different species of land tortoises in Buxa National Park. The best way to spot all these exquisite wildlife is by indulging in Buxa Tiger Reserve Safari. The Buxa Tiger Reserve Safari is one of the famous tourist activities of Buxa National Park. Sightseeing at Buxa National Park There are many historic and pictorial places to visits within the dense forest of Buxa National Park. Buxa Fort Buxa Fort known for being the oldest forts in Eastern India is a famous sightseeing place of Dooars region.
Era Buxa Fort was an object of discussion between the Kings of Bhutan & the Koch Kings, since the fort guarded Silk Route, one of the most important routes to Bhutan. Later on November 11, 1865, British captured the Buxa Fort and converted it into a high security prison to detain the freedom fighters during Indian Revolution. Jayanti Located along the Jayanti River, which forms a natural border with the Bhutan hills, this beautiful place offers all the peace and calmness that is so missing in our busy city life. Jayanti is another favored sightseeing place of Buxa National Park. Although the Jayanti River is mostly dry, its shores of white pebbles add to the eternal beauty which never ceases to amaze the travelers visiting Buxa Tiger Reserve. Going through the dense subtropical forest of Buxa Tiger Reserve to reach Jayanti is an amazing experience. The route leading towards Jayanti is a huge tourist attraction of Dooars Region. Spotting a herd of Elephant or plenty of Peacocks or Barking Deers are the most common sights seen on the way the Jayanti. Apart from enjoying the beauty of nature and taking a bath in the cool river stream of Jayanti there are quite a few places nearby Jayanti that are worth a visit. Located about 4 Km from Jayanti, Pokhari Hill is a must-visit sightseeing destination of Jayanti. There is a sacred lake in Pokhari Hill making it is a place of religious worship for the Bhutanese and other local people. Mahakal Cave Jayanti Mahakal located along the shores of the Jayanti River and shares its natural border with the hills of Bhutan is another favored sightseeing place of Buxa National Park. It is another popular destination for covering a trek of around 13 km from Buxa Tiger Reserve. Mahakal Cave is a cylindrical cave dedicated to Lord Shiva. The trek to reach Mahakal Cave runs through the dense forests of Buxa that are known for the amazing bird look. The trek from Buxa Tiger Reserve to Mahakal Cave is brief and lasts for one hour and half-hour. There are 3 caves located adjacent to Mahakal Cave. The second and also the middle one host the idol of Lord Shiva whereas of the third one dwells the god Mahakali. It is believed that Mahakal Cave is very ancient and the idol of Shiva is a self manifested one. The best time to go to the Mahakal cave is at the time of Shivaratri. Also, the place is gorgeous throughout the year however it should be avoided during the rainy season because the cave itself becomes slightly inaccessible. The beautiful stalagmite cave of Mahakal never ceases to amaze the travelers. Where To Stay In Buxa National Park There are many accommodation facilities in and around Buxa Tiger Reserve for the visitors. West Bengal Forest Department Corporation Ltd (WBFDC) has built a Forest Bungalow on the periphery of Buxa National Park. Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest Bungalow is known to be one of the most preferred places to stay in Dooars. How To Reach Buxa Tiger Reserve Located 23 KMs from Alipurduar visitors can easily reach Buxa Tiger Reserve by boarding a train for Alipurduar Railway Station. From Alipurduar Railway Station they can hire a car to reach Buxa Tiger Reserve

আগস্ট মাসে জঙ্গল সাফারি বন্ধ থাকে।। নদীতে জল থাকায় মহাকাল মন্দির ও যেতে পারবেন না।।বৃষ্টিতে লেপচাখা,buxa fort ট্রেক করাও সমস্যার।। আপনি যদি প্রকৃতি ভালোবাসেন,তাহলে জয়ন্তী বর্ষায় অপরূপ।কিন্তু ওই হোম স্টে তে বসে বাইরের প্রকৃতি উপভোগ করতে হবে।। পায়ে হেঁটে এদিক ওদিক ঘুরতে পারেন।। Activity খুব বেশি সম্ভব নয়।।

বিকেলে 4 টায় একটা nbstc বাস ছাড়ে জয়ন্তী থেকে।আলিপুরদুয়ার হয়ে কোচবিহার যায়।।এছাড়া শেয়ার অটো পাবেন।তবে দুপুরের পর সংখ্যায় কম।। রিভার বেডের সামান্য আগে,বাসস্ট্যান্ড এই চেকপোস্ট আছে।।ওখান থেকেই সাফারী শুরু।সাফারী টিকিট ও ওখানেই পাবেন।।চেকপোস্ট থেকে রিভার বেড জাস্ট 2মিনিট হাঁটতে হয়।কোনো হোম স্টে তে থাকলে ওখান থেকেই গাড়ি পিক আপ করে নেয়।।ধন্যবাদ

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the meticulous details. Jayanti and its adjoining surroundings is not the best place for tiger sighting. But the nature, yes definitely. In fact, tigers are almost extinct in the whole of North Bengal except for one or two here and there. The nearest location where you can find tigers is Manas in Assam It is not too far from Alipurduar.
