As a previous owner of a 1969 Plymouth Grand Fury, there’s just something about the 300 that pulls on any man’s testosterone fuelled image while still checking the Low rider, godfather box and is a classic and a keeper. The models fitted with the Pentastar 6 cylinder gave marvellous highway mileage while still smoking along at ticket earning speeds. These cars are just plain cool, and considering your overall costs, you are doing alright!

Thank you for posting this review. I own a 2005 limited. I bought it in the summer of 2004, watched it being unloaded off the transfer truck! It only had 3 miles on it when I took possession of it. Now it has 179,000 miles and it’s time to sell. I have never had a mechanical problem with it, although it is starting to clunk a little when it’s cold. I have replaced the normal wear and tear like tires and brakes but it has been a very good running, dependable, and great looking car! I’ve owned this car longer than any other, 15 years this July. I will miss it very much........however getting over my 300 might be quick, I just purchased a 2007 C6 3LT Z51 Corvette! My end of life car! 😄😄

I'm about to buy this car and I can find em for 4000-5000 in good condition.. What is mileage? How much it consumes l/100km? I live in country where monthly salary is 600 bucks and gas price is 1.8 dollar per litre (6.7 dollars per gallon) so is it smart move buying it??? Here 95% of population drives cars with 1 to 2L engines... Boring and not much efficient.. All above 2L is considered as "luxury" and it's exponentially more expensive for registration bcs of "luxury tax". Registration and insurance for this beast would cost 2700 dollars annually unlike normal cars with 270 bucks of taxes... (luxury tax can be avoided if you register car on invalid person's name so isn't going more than 300 bucks) Btw I'm 27yo boy who wants once in his life to try American beast... I wouldn't drive more than 10.000km annually, so I'd use it for weekend ride or traveling to coast... Since they're rare here in Serbia, car parts are expensive like for space shuttle. I could live with that, but my question is, what fuel consumption to expect in relaxed ride not faster than 50-80mph since here are expensive speeding penalties.. Have you ever reached consumption bellow 10 liters per 100 kilometers (2.6 gallons per 60 miles)? Can you tell me as experienced owner of this car what commonly problems to expect and some useful tips if I dare devil to buy it.. Remember, fuel price is 6.8 bucks for gallon and I have 550-600 bucks salary (200 left free for spending what I want).. Thanks in advance!

@@mrboleus8240 hello my friend. After reading about your situation, I have to say that I really should not be complaining about mine. @@mrboleus8240 I have an 08 Charger R/T which is basically the same setup. It is all stock so gas mileage is still pretty decent. They started adding MDS(Multiple Displacement System) somewhere along the way. This switches it from 8 cylinder operation to 4 cylinder operation. They are rated at 24mpg(miles per gallon). My check engine light was on which deactivates MDS. I drove it probably 300 miles and used very little gas. I was impressed. If you start modifying them, gas mileage can change drastically. They sound terrible in 4 cylinder mode with aftermarket dual exhaust. Most people disable it. Lifter failure is common on Hemi's, known as "Hemi Tick". Usually wipes out the cam. Oil type and maintenance is key but not guaranteed to eliminate it. Disabling MDS seems to be the best option as it allows full oil pressure to all of the lifters all of the time. Front suspension is the main failure point. It doesn't keep it from being driven, it just makes noise and can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

I bought a Salvaged (Flood Damaged) 2006 SRT8 300. I have owned the car now for just around 4,000 miles. I have only had to fix minor things... Gas cap locked itself and I don't have that key... One of the previous owners tinted the FACTORY TINTED windows, not once, but twice... (yes 2 layers on top of the Factory tint). The car currently has about 115,000 miles on it, and it runs like a dream. I might attribute this to it being a flood salvage, that most of the Rubber stuff in the suspension had been replaced before my purchase, since the car was salvaged 2 years prior to my ownership. I might just be one of the lucky few, that has an awesome version of this car, and with the way I drive it, will likely never see these issues that other owners seem to report. I have owned a 2013 300, and my brother in law currently has a 2012 Challenger, and previously had a 2011 Charger. None of these cars have had any issues aside from the brakes shimmying (like all of these cars seemed to do, except mine which has brembos) and prior owner related issues, when they removed screws but didn't put them back.

People treat there cars like shit and then blame the manufacturer. I’m still running my 05 HEMI 300 everyday and it looks better now than it did the day I bought it. Learn how to care for your vehicle. It’s not difficult. When this car was released Mercedes owned Chrysler. Your essentially buying a Mercedes when you purchase one built between 05-08. This is a beautiful car and it will stay that way if you treat it with respect. I guarantee this one in the video has had a harder life that it deserved (looks like its spent its life outdoors all the time) and it still runs strong. If that isn’t a testament to how well made they are I don’t what is. Show me another car that still looks and runs like that after 14 years of regular use.

I'd report similar things about my 05 AWD Magnum. Worst thing for sure is the suspension. I had both my front drive shafts pop right out and all the bushings were shit. It really has beefy parts underneath it, very truck-like, but the rubber and shit holding it all together isn't very truck-like. Regret it being an AWD, even though that sounded neat at first. My interior has held up better though. I had the warping around vents but some super glue fixed it up so well that it surprised me. It looks excellent for it's age now. Interior looks more like a Durango of that era rather than a Charger and thankfully has no chrome or wood bits. I've had to replace a fuel pump too. That lock ring was a bitch, had to order a special tool. My paint is excellent as well, props to Chrysler for quality paint. It's a fun car that grabs a lot of attention to drive but I'd not like to depend on it as my only car. It's never left me stranded but I get the feeling that it would if I drove it a lot. I paid only 2000 dollars for this car so I am happy with what I got, though now I am wanting to find a Challenger if prices ever come back to reality. Edit: It has 256,000 miles on it right now.

I have a 2006 300C. Bought it 2 years ago with 135k miles on it and over the course of 2 years I’ve spent close to 3 grand fixing up the engine mounts, front end suspension, alternator, battery, oil changes, transmission fluid & filter change. I’m at 164k miles right now and a few thousand miles ago I started to notice that my transmission was starting to go out. It was slipping gears and rough shifting. I put some Lucas Transmission Fix in it yesterday and so far it seems to really be helping with that but the car still vibrates horribly at a stop when in drive. Other than that my chrome is all original and it looks fantastic to this day. The car came from the south for all of it’s lifetime before I had it so rust was never an issue even now where I live up north. great review, I have a hand me down 2006 300c just shy of 180k miles, that I know of, both control arms have been replaced and possibly more, glad you mentioned the "hemi tick" I always worry about my oil level when I hear it, either that or a noisy lifter, but knowing it is very common, puts my mind at ease, the car is great to mod, mine has a custom grill and 19" custom rims with low profile tires

Nice video, just getting started on replacing suspension stuff on my 06. Did the fuel tank recall and they replaced the weak fuel pump at the same time for free. EGR valve and water pump in the past month. Look for videos on “stuck in park”. OEM replacement part is plastic; use the metal part from Dorman. Other than that, I keep having to replace alternators, probably 5 or 6 so far
@TopLineRacer5 жыл бұрын
Those are all pretty common issues but I am surprised about the alternator. There has to be another issue there. Thanks for watching!

My 2008 300C Heritage Edition has 163k miles currently. The front suspension has been gone through a couple times in 12 years, replacing parts as they wear out. Mot recently had to replace one coil pack and two plugs on cylinder 7, had noticed for a while that it seemed to have a slight miss at idle but didn't know which cylinder until the coil completely failed and threw a code. Car runs even better now, but want to check the other coils and replace all 16 plugs. BTW the car will still get 0-60 in less that 6 seconds (5.58 seconds is it's best so far), dead stock and get almost 24 MPG @ 75 MPH.

I also live in northeastern Pennsylvania and I’m the original owner of a 2006 Chrysler 300 C that currently has 273,000 miles on it and I will race anyone with my Hemi. After 13 years I had to replace a fuel pump after 14 and alternator there were some issues with the gas tank as you mentioned and I have a lifetime warranty after I had the initial tank replaced. Just recently I replaced a valve cover. Unfortunately I was run off the road in Jersey and I went into the center median hitting all kinds of bumps and holes I thought I blew out all four tires and broke every axle when I finally stopped and called the police I got back up onto Route 78 and I was able to drive the car home without incident. Took it to my mechanic and he found some parts that needed replacement but the car saved me from sure death. Those replacements to the front end were directly related to that incident. If you were in the car and saw how it handled you would be impressed. I have no issues with the paint job a slight rust problem at both rear wheel wells right at the seam where metal meets plastic which I’m having that sanded out and fixed but other than that this car has been incredible it also came with a six CD changer which worked flawlessly until I decided to make a label for one of my CDs. Not realizing the very close tolerance the label melted jammed up the mechanism. I went on KZbin and learned how to remove the radio and remove the CD when I put it back in something didn’t work right and I will replace the radio but that’s after many years and I’ve decided I would rather keep this car and rebuild it because I love the look of the 2006 300C. Mine is all wheel drive and as long as you have good tires you will go through anything. Say what you Will Scotty add take this Chrysler over your Honda. By the way my four previous cars were all Toyotas and they all had issues. I like them but I’m equally as impressed with my Chrysler especially with no car payments since 2012.

Thanks for the review! I have a 2006 300c with 200k miles on it, got it in 2012 with 74k miles and still going strong. Mine is modified though. Still need to have the fuel tank replaced. I replaced the whole front end suspension at once including new steering rack, power steering lines, pump and input shaft (the rubber on that comes apart). Had alignment issues (probably because it’s lowered) and replaced the upper control arms with adjustable SPC and fixed that issue. Cheap way how to avoid valve seat drop is to disable MDS feature, 180 thermostat and after you park let it run for a minute or 2 before shutting it off. Mine has the same issues with interior, but replaced interior door handles with those from SRT8 and steering wheel from SRT8. Don’t have problem with chrome as I eliminated the chrome and blacked out the car to match the paint. If you get a tuner, I highly recommend replacing the rear gear ratio from 2.82 to 3.06. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and happy I don’t have a car payment.

I had my '99 300m from about 160,000 up to 330,000 km. Got rid of it cause of an oil pump failure. They never had problems, for the bigger defects I was responsible. When you maintain your car, it runs reliably. Hi from the UK. These are one of the very few American cars that sold reasonably well here. They also sold a version with the Mercedes 3.0 V6 turbodiesel engine, which is the most popular model due to the cost of gas here. They also represent good value for money here as they're a bit of a bargain 2nd-hand. Personally I went to view a 2nd-hand one about 10 years ago at a Chrysler dealer & was put off by the bubbling chrome on the bumper when it was only 3 years old.

Hey thanks for watching! They certainly have their flaws and I am personally not a big Chrysler fan (I've had some others and was never impressed). However, the 345hp for the little but of money they cost is just a crazy good deal. It hasn't been the most reliable car I have ever owned by a longshot but I really do enjoy the car overall.
