The first project really shows how fairly priced the art actually was! $50 in materials (even more if they didn't use the cheapest ones) and 4 hours of time. Plus shopping, plus packing, plus listing etc. I'm happy for the artist. ❤️😊

For the clay wall art - could you spray it with clear spray paint to give it some stability? I know the paint comes in both matte and gloss finish so take your pick.
@Imadeitpast202 ай бұрын
Or maybe a thin layer of resin ?
@singingwolf89972 ай бұрын
@fairygoth-mother7341 I would wrap the painted canvas in cling wrap and lay the clay down with no glue. Let the clay dry and harden entirely, monitoring for cracks. When it's hardened fully, very carefully peel the pieces off, remove the cling wrap, and glue the clay pieces down with a durable, strong glue. Top with a sealant of some sort, and done. It grants more control and has less room for error.

For those without a 3d printer check out your local libraries. Especially the central ones. They often have a 3d printer for patrons use. The Tulsa Central Libray has an entire Maker's Space. They have soundproofed room in the central library with 3 3d printers, cnc mill, laser cutter/engraver, vinyal cutter, serger sewing machine, dremal & whole bunch of other things that I can't remember. But the local neighborhood branches often have a 3d printer to use too. For tools you can also look for a local tool library that let's you check out tools. Unfortunately we didn't have one in Tulsa but they're popping up in places. Although unfortunately not at actual local libraries. Probably because of liability. But theres others around.

Colleges, community, and bigger schools often have areas and equipment you can use. I printed a ton of photos in a university darkroom. I supplied my own paper, but for a small fee I got to use their chemicals and all.

The first wall art project is so stinking cute! When you mentioned that it was fragile I thought it would look nice in a shadow box type frame. Just hanging it on the wall would work until you had to dust it. Behind glass it would remain dust free. 😊

Love to see you back crafting. I cry a bit inside every time I see someone paint with acrylic. 😢 Your not supposed to use it straight out of the tube. It is supposed to be mixed with water. If you mix 10% water with the paint, mixy mix. Then use it, 1. Your paint will go farther, 2. It will spread better, 3. It will be a brighter colour. (College art classes taught me this, btw unless you are buying 100$ tubes of acrylic paint. They are all actually the same. Except for long gevity, or if you are layering thicker paint on top of paint.) Ok off my soap box. Those cats are so cute🥰 thanks for sharing. Love your videos. They have kept me sane, and lol during recovery from 3rd degree burns and pain. Lots of love, please don't ever stop.
@lunabelletheinsane15 күн бұрын
This is not true, as in "you're not supposed to...". It really depends on what you are doing with your acrylic paint. You can one hundred percent use it right out of the tube, if that's what you so wish to do. It also depends on WHAT TYPE of acrylic paint you are using and what your project with your paint is. You can also mix it with water, or acrylic paint medium. There are COUNTLESS ways to art - and the way you are describing is only one way to use the medium. Just because you learned it in an art class, doesn't make it the right way. Often times in art, there is no right way, only ones' preferred way. That being said - the paint Jackie used for this particular project, the squeegee painting would have benefited from a base coat under her finished look at minimum, and a mix with a thinner of some sort. But if she loved it - really, there was nothing wrong with it at all and the way she did it.

For those who work in polymer clay do not bake it in an oven used for food. It will deposit compounds (phthalates and other things) in your oven that will then redeposit on any food you bake in there. Buy a nuwave, or toaster oven and park it outside or in a well ventilated room for baking your clay. It's a very safe material when used correctly but caution is always better and mini ovens have a lot more control of temperature and much faster heat up and cool down times. Not to mention they also take less energy.

Where I am in Mexico, they now have Coke A Cola Oreos. Basically the cream is red, has Pop Rocks in it and slightly tastes like cola. The cookie is normal, nothing special. Yes, I bought a small pack because I HAD to taste it. I didn't really like the cookie and cream together, but separate it was pretty cool. You have to allow the cream to sit on your tongue to get the pop rocks going.

For the Oreo Lazy Susan, if you're using the printed out paper Oreos: a good way to attach paper to wood is to give the wood a coat of Mod Podge and let it dry completely. Then put the paper on top, cover it with a piece of parchment paper, and press it with a hot iron. The heat will reactivate the Mod Podge, and the paper will stick nice and flat without any wrinkles. I'm also wondering if you could go over the details in the Oreo with hot glue, then when the glue is dry, paint the glued areas with black paint. Then your Oreo will be 3-D. I may try this myself.
