BTD usually means buy the dip in indices, not in individual stocks

You are right ! No matter what strategies are used, this [trading] is NOT EASY !! As far as "buy the dip" I very, very seldom will do this !! However, I frequently "buy low/ sell high". What is the difference ? You MUST do your research & MUST use the support & resistance levels for your buying/selling [NOT the dips}!! Of course, stocks have "breakout" times both up & down & must be watched for !! Marcus, have you ever done any videos on "shorting stocks" ?? I have never done this, but is "tempting" with current mkt. conditions ?!

Yes thats what i am always wondering when people say that! I am not an trader more a long term investor. I always calculate what i want to pay for a stock and when its getting in my sweetspot i buy the dip as long as its in my sweet spot when its getting out of my valuating i wait again. Ofc i check my valuations and update them. Anyways always love watching your videos even though i am not an option trader. I am more the boring kind of investor!

BDT seems similar to Rescue mission but like everything else with trading ... got to do your homework! lol, RIDE is bad dip! lol. I use it mostly for vanguard etfs. Passive stuff or pseudo rescue missions for stock I already own. Not often, but has its place.

Hey Markus, why not running a Stock Repair /Ratio Spread strategy with $RIDE? So you would not need to put in more money but can still lower your break even point? I understand that it will not bring in some premiums, but not sure if I wanted to add more "fresh" money into such a deep red position.

sold half my AAPL shares, looking to rebuy lower. the problem with BTD is that the first dip is not the last. particularly if the stock was way overbought. critical to BTD is having a good criterion for overbought/oversold and waiting for the BS to play out. it does help to have a thick skin when you get spanked. your best technique for controlling risk is to dca in small increments. i recommend no more than 2% of account nlv into a new position.

The key to the ‘buy the dip’ strategy is to always have money for dip: 1: your initial size should be at least as small as 1/1000 2: don’t be afraid to “pause your trade”, getting out of the way of a down trend; the worst than can happen is that you’ll have a higher average. 3: slow your role, make 16 entries per block: 01 + 02 + 03 + 04 = 10 02 + 04 + 06 + 08 = 20 03 + 06 + 09 + 12 = 30 04 + 08 + 12 + 16 = 40 } = 100 02 to 200 03 to 300 04 to 400 } = 1000 4: it’s ok to ‘middle’ your position, exit at average, and start over.

Here's what I mean: When I see "bad unemployment numbers", you would THINK that the markets move lower, right? But when you SEE that the markets are moving higher, don't fight the trend. Somehow market participants determined that "good news is bad news" and driving the market higher. So it doesn't matter what I THINK... I should just trade what I SEE and follow the trend. Is this making sense? :-)

@@rockwelltradingservices sort of. But I think it would be interesting for you to expand on this. I am influenced by the news and when I see positions go lower I trade accordingly. Or sometimes I chase a stock up and get stuck in a higher strike price. PS: Great episode btw
