I use 60 wt shock oil with blue springs and 50 wt with grey springs and I’ve never had a problem with the push rod ends popping off. Keep in mind i have been running this for 5 months almost everyday. Only upgrades I have are the summit bumpers and body, rear toe links, Teflon coated shock bodies, and 100k diff oil. The summit body is way MORE durable than the e revo 2.0 body in my opinion, it’s exo cage soaks up all the roll overs like it’s nothing. Also, I am using proline badlands mx38’s and I strapped them and vented them and get great performance on and off road.

I just bought one my buddy has had 1 for 2 years. We just run the suspension tight keeps the travel from going crazy then you don’t need limiting straps as well with tight suspension it won’t bottom out as much. Only down side with tight suspension if you want to call it a downside is that it will wheelie more but with good throttle control it’s not an issue
@paulkauss93463 жыл бұрын
I highly recommend going with the Traxxas red metal gear servo, single or dual. You will have problems with the stock ones, but you can get part 2072a or 2073 spur gears for 4$ for when they do strip and keep running them. Agreed on the metal back mount as a must add on. Great video.
@NaWJeyJey2 жыл бұрын
You don't need the Exocage, your body will last longer than you want without. You just need the TRX or RPM cage supporters. The RPM bumpers are ok, but not necessary. The alumnium brace on the rear is one of the must haves but you need the suspension limiter straps too. At my first battery with this thing the center drive shaft broke because of small stones. Buy the steel shafts if you want to drive in rough terrain.

This is a great response. I support everything you just said!

I've got all of these upgrades except for the RPM body savers. I had bought 105 mm limiting straps, but with the stock suspension rockers they were too long. I got some old long travel Summit/Revo 3.3 rockers off a friend and now the limiting straps do their job perfectly! The long travel rockers probably aren't the best thing to do to an ERevo, but I like the extra ride height and suspension travel.

It baffles me why anyone would use those limit straps... I just put a zip tie from the body post to the middle support on the control arm.... just clicked the zip tie one at a time until it barely limited travel.

That may work but I’d be surprised if they didn’t break. Depends on how large of a zip tie too I suppose.

Joshua Esposito zip ties have excellent tensile strength. There isn’t any rubbing and if one broke I could easily replace it. . I’ve driven 30k miles with one zip tie holding my bumper on when the front passenger tire ripped out the entire fender liner on my 2013 WRX. . I’m just waiting for a duct tape fix now. Lol.

I have watched vids that the front skid plate is designed better and actually keeps the wheels from dropping too far (basically what Traxxas should have done with the rear).
@KTMcaptain4 жыл бұрын
Joshua Esposito if you put the front end in a block and pull the front suspension down you can pull on the shock... so I run zip ties on the front to prevent that. . When the truck cartwheels or lands weird the wheel can be pulled down yanking the tie rods and shocks apart. Limit straps prevent the shock from being damaged but do nothing to protect the rod ends on the pushrods.
