BUYER BEWARE - Lords of the Fallen is a Broken Mess Right Now!!!

In this video Soul issues a warning to the public, that Lords of the Fallen is currently unplayable. Terrible performance, framerate, visuals... Everything is bad about this game right now. Stay well away from this mess.

Yup, i really love the gameplay, art direction, lore, level design, ost etc. - but even on PS5 i have constant 30-20fps dips when i run, with cutscenes tearing. It's a shame

I'm on pc, took some small tweaking and it started running fine but honestly I still couldn't even play longer than two hours. I'm extremely disappointed, I saw a lot of the content creators that I normally watch praising the game, several of them saying it's the best souls-like they've played which got me rather hype. I pre-ordered the game, which I don't normally do, based on those recommendations and honestly I'm just left unimpressed with what little I've played. The movement feels floaty and it has a momentum to it that just didn't feel good to me. When attacking it feels like you're gliding across the ground with your swings and you inadvertently end up directly in the path of an enemy attack who just seconds before would've been out of range had your character not decided it was a good idea to practice his circle glide while in combat. Maybe I'm being too critical but after Lies of P impressed me as much as it did this just feels like another clunky disappointment from CI Games. While I won't be so harsh as to say that it's just as bad as the first one, as it's definitely an improvement, it still just doesn't feel right. Honestly I'd probably get a refund and wait for a steep discount if I hadn't bought through GreenManGaming, goes to show me to be careful trying to get a small discount with no option for a refund. Of course I'm not gonna completely drop the game, hopefully a couple more hours and it'll click with me but my initial impression isn't great.

I play games only on xbox.. this is really depressing. And I wonder.. why they released this game with this state? I am 100% sure they tested out on all the platforms and 100% sure they knew the game runs bad on xbox. Why did they not delay this? I just can’t understand. Aside the performance issue, I’ve heard the game has also a co-op issue.

Playing on PS5 and the performance is _still_ abysmal post-patch...on performance mode, ironically. You really start to notice it once you hit the Forsaken Fen and Calrath, and generally anytime you switch to Umbral. Aside from that, I am _floored_ by how under-polished this is. If I had a dollar for every time an enemy, myself, or even a boss (for God's sake) got stuck on a piece of scenery, I could buy the entire continent of Australia!

Same on ps5 bought deluxe edition, made it to Forsaken Fen midgame it just crashed and corrupted my file. When I resume gameplay I'm falling through screen til I get error msg. Main menu I dont have continue option anymore either just New Game. 115 hours of grinding gone, but yea I agree with u ps5 performance for this game is just sad!

Since this video has been uploaded, the patch has gone live which has "sorted out" some performance issues. The game now has a better framerate, however now the graphics look horrendous in some places, even on the "Quality" setting. An example has been uploaded to my channel.

This game is so much fun.. when it works which it barely does. Constant stuttering and frame drops. Audio is broken 90% of the time. I can’t believe I’ve made it as far as I have on the Xbox with how bad it is. I know for a fact that I’ve missed a ton of upgrade materials because a lot of the time I have to just run through an area to just get to the next checkpoint otherwise I will die due to stutters and freezing. But when this game does work on rare occasions, it’s extremely fun. I really hope they can fix the issues on Xbox because I’d love to start a brand new play through and actually play as it’s intended.

Honestly I rushed home today to play this game, and I can't play it without feeling sick. I've never had to take motion sickness medication just to play a game until today. I managed 5 hours whilst feeling queasy, from the constant stuttering, screen tearing, and low frame rate, and that was just so I can get out an Initial Impressions video. I genuinely can't stomach anymore until its patched.

@ChaosSoulYT I had a similar experience with one of the new Far Cry Games, I ended up having to completely disable high performance as it was tied to motion blur and other settings that were making me want to throw up. It's so silly, we need smooth fps and all the extra bells and whistles can be reserved for those spending all their quid on a mega pc rig

Finally some honesty 🙏. I was soo close to purchasing this game to make content around. But after seeing the abismal optimization I will definitely wait until this is readily available in the bargain bin.

I bought it for my PS5 yesterday and it is great. Graphics and performance are very good. Certainly up to the From Soft standard 😂. Ti bad MS screwed themselves by splitting their hardware base with the S and X.

In performance mode on my Ps5 it really isnt that bad... its definitely better than DS1 performance in blighttown and that was a masterpiece.

After 115 hours my game crashed and file corrupted. Tons of grinding gone, I'm sooo pissed rn. I dont think I'll be playing this again, refund in my future.

Sadly, the hour without crashes was some of the worst tutorial I have seen. Way too many name drops and exposition when they could have made it so simple. Will buy on sale and with 20 patches applied.

on the edge of purchasing it on PC right now. want to grab it so bad but i just can't justify getting it with a 52% positive rating on Steam. and I too suffer from motion sickness - i personally couldn't play DS3 simply because it made me nauseous. just gonna try to give it some time for now I think. PS5 performance is really poor. It's not unplayable but obviously struggling and intermittently really disrupts gameplay. Highly disappointed

Personal opinion. Come on. I'm level 60 and I see a few things. Buts it's like you typical game. Grind to get level. First boss is touch. You need to level some. You can just go in. Stay close to her, swing after you dodge her swings. Second stage same thing. But only swing once. Use grenades from a distance. I've gotten close. But having arthritis, I'm not in a hurry. I'm grinding xp.

I'm not having any of the "issues" ChaosSoul is having. To be honest, no one in our group of friends are having these issues. This sounds like more catastrophizing than anything. If I were to bet, he just can't let go of the Souls games, and won't enjoy anything else. This is a poor take, from someone who tells you to discount journalists opinions because they're not a big reporter (but his count, lol). The game plays fine, it's just difficult. You can tell from the Lords of the Fallen content on this channel, they're reviewing a game from the tutorial level. Here's a better warning than the one you proffered to the public: you're bad at the game, and you blame the problems you had rather than being a bit more introspective. The co-op, alone, has taken this game to another level, but you haven't even given that an honest try. Go back to making Souls content.

You are assuming I can't let go of souls games? Go and watch my Lies of P review, were I specifically criticise people for struggling to let go of Souls. This video was primarily focused on being a warning based on the version of the game I was playing. Did you read the pinned comment? I made a full review after this video, 15 minutes long, going into my full experience with the game at that point, but will be making ANOTHER 30 minute+ review once I have beaten the game, just as I did with Lies of P.

My game is literally unplayable and I got a mid high end pc. It’s ridiculous, constant frame drops and stuttering with ALL my settings on low.
