That RME UFX II has a more professional suite of interfaces, including word clock and AES/EBU digital, not present on the Arturia Studio. Also has 8 line outputs, including two channels on XLR. Plus two full MIDI I/O buses on standard DIN. What the UFX II doesn't have is the same front panel configuration, which might be of value to you. For that, you can consider adding the ARC USB remote control. But better than any feature-by-feature account, more important than any list of specifications, is the fact that RME have the best firmware in the industry and excellent support befitting a company that caters to professionals. They fixed one of my units for free, despite it being 15 years old! You can't go wrong with RME.

@@andrecosta9e Hey, yeah I've had the Audiofuse Studio for close to a year now. It's good. A nice premium interface. So far it does everything I need it to do. There's software that comes with the interface called The Control Center. In there I can adjust the levels on my desktop. When I record vocals and want to hear myself louder, I turn up the mic headphones on the interface and turn down the USB level on the Control Center. Works perfectly because it doesn't affect the Master volume. I hope that makes sense. The AudioFuse (not Studio) has that mix knob but this pretty much does the same thing.

Very solid, thorough comparison of the features in this line. One question: Do you have any information as to why the Studio took over a year to ship after being announced so long ago? I texted the question to Arturia on multiple occasions and they refused to answer, replying only with salesman BS. This doesn't say much for their support policies. And while I've had my eye on the Studio, I hesitate to toss $900 to a company that has failed to respond honestly to my inquiry. Lacks integity. Obviously, they were having issues with the Studio. Hiding from an honest question may say volumes about the lack of support that may follow should a problem arise after purchase.

You should have hired BETTER and/or MORE firmware development engineers! (Yes, I have worked in firmware development). As its very first USB Audio Recording Interface product launch, the OVER 2 YEAR DELAY of the original Audiofuse was somewhat forgivable (but not really). HOWEVER, it STILL had issues when it was finally released! WTH? (And it continues to as mentioned in this video). OH, and please tell me again Exactly How Long it took Arturia to provide the original Audiofuse with its Very First UPDATE??? INEXCUSABLE and laughable! But then to actually REPEAT the extremely long release delays for your 2nd Gen 8pre and Studio products? Nice overview. I’ve ordered a Studio to replace my Scarlett 18i8. Hopefully it will be here soon. Very much looking forward to it. I just wish they had an 8pre that was ADAT only (just the preamps with no A>D conversion). Having mic pres, and without having to pay for the extras involved with the actual interface portion of it, would seemingly lower the cost significantly for those of us who don’t need that functionality duplicated. Do you know if the mic pres in the Studio are available from another company? Or are the exclusive to Arturia?

What an incredible video! Very well done and cut down to the essentials. That's how I prefer it. But I have a question: I got some speakers with a toslink input. Is it possible to connect them via the optical outputs? They're used in a master/ slave combo. So I'd just need to plug in one optical cable in the master speaker to get them both running.

I had two arturia audiofuse 8pre on the past, that i took rid off my home studio because the knobs of the preamps gain added noise when i turned them (same problem on the two and for the eight preamps), did you noticed the same problem on the studio or rev2 version ? And other question, Are the headphones amps powerful enough for a headphone like DT770 250 ? Or do you have to push the buton to the top ? (I mean for the Studio and REV2 version, on the 8pre i had to push the button around 80% to have a good level when i mix around -15dbfs peak...) Thanks for this video ! :) Sam' from France

I use audiofuse studio on a daily basis and have had no issues with it. Perhaps I had to restart it twice since I made this video because the main encoder was responding oddly (it's a software controlled encoder). I highly recommend it.
@bbfoto72483 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Razzano I can't comment on the mic preamp gain knob noise (though I also had this problem on my Audient iD22). But regarding the headphone amplifier, the user manual for the Audiofuse products state that the STUDIO headphone amp is usable for headphones with up to 600-ohm impedance, and the standard Audiofuse and 8pre are usable with up to 250-ohm impedance headphones. I believe this is because you must always use the AC wall power supply with the STUDIO, which gives it more input power to fldrive all of the electronics. And the 8pre was not designed to be a main "monitor controller" as it would be more likely to be combined with another device to perform that function.

Hey Loopop - for the Audiofuse Rev2, how does it handle stereo input? I couldn’t quite understand it from your video, is it that you ‘couple’ the rear inputs to be stereo using the software? Thanks!!

DC coupled outputs on the studio but not the 8pre? The 8pre would’ve made a great expander for modular with the addition of DC coupled outputs!!!

I've seen RME talk about this. USB3 doesn't improve latency it only improves data throughput... what they say is: there's no point unless you need very high track counts, otherwise you're just paying more money for no benefit.

Hello loopop, I really appreciate this run down on this audio interface. I have been eyeing this fuse studio one for awhile now but I have some QUESTIONS that I just don't have a technical understanding of and why, was really hoping you could help shed some light on it! obviously, the price difference between this and lets say the 'RME Fireface 802 Audio Interface' is pretty high. minus the obvious things like additional line inputs, why is the RME so much more expensive than the audio fuse? does it have to do with the DSP or some other feature that I'm just not seeing? This one has been baffling me for a couple days now so any help would be great!

Thanks! I’ve never used an RME interface so other than looking at the specs I don’t have much insight into that.

@@loopop Returning with a new important question when you get some time lol. monitoring.. with my current u-phora and adat expander. I CANNOT monitor the adat channels, only the main u-phora channels. Do you know if you can monitor all channels (adat including) with the audio fuse Studio? I do not see anything in the documentation or manual. Monitoring question #2 - I saw on audio fuse studio you have the listen buttons on the front, is that the only way you can monitor 4 out of the 8 total input channels? that seems really weird if that's the case.
@loopop3 жыл бұрын
I'll start with question #2 - the listen button is a quick solo, you can direct monitor any of the built in channels you like in one of 3 custom configurations (main cue1 cue2) - you just need to configure them in the audiofuse control center. Regarding question #1 - I just had a look in the software and it seems like there's no direct monitoring option for ADAT. Obviously you can route them through your DAW. Did you ask Arturia about this?

Hi Loopop and fellow subscribers. Does anyone have any experience using the Audiofuse studio as an expander into ADAT in Of a UAD Apollo MK1 (only ADAT in)? I was considering buying a Tascam Model 12 to handle all my line inputs (I have 4 synths stereo or Integra can use spdif out, and my kronos can use ADAT out as I have this setup, plus a little 6 channel beringher), stereo guitar, two drum machine stereo. My issue is a can't have everything plugged in at the same time, which is a bind...The Audiofuse studio has both spdif in and optical spdif in. It seems like the answer to all my issues , and would give me an extra 8 channels on my UAD mixer? Desktop real estate is an issue. just wondered if anyone has tried this setup. My UAD is 5 years old now and as much as i would like to buy the UAD 8 . it's not in my budget ...Audiofuse Studio into UAD Twim mk1 or Tascam ? Any thoughts?

Of all the things I can do to improve my music, I'm least concerned about converters (until proven otherwise...!)

I have a Prism Lyra and Titan as my two other interfaces. The Prism stuff is the gold standard in my opinion. They are well over twice the price per channel. That being said the ones in the Studio are really good and are similar in quality to what you would find on latest gen UA or Avid. The real genius thing is the 10db boost mode. I use this all the time on my Sennheiser 441. It has a pretty low gain so the boost adds some really nice headroom.
