It's always puzzled me as to why they only put the short clip on the official Let It Be album when they performed the song in the Let It Be movie including Billy Preston on keyboards and George Martin on percussion. I've also got an alternate version with John singing different lyrics that runs about 6 minutes. Will be good to have the official release at long last - cheers Pete

Definitely getting the Super Deluxe CD set but as with the 3 previous anniversary sets (especially Abbey Road), I'm complaining about the skimpy number of alternate takes and other bonus material included. Perhaps they should have created a Mega Deluxe limited edition line for the Beatle-crazies like me who want to have the complete sessions - all the music recorded during and around the time of the sessions, don't need any knick-knacks (don't want any dice, wooden bookmarks, figurines etc) and even the book can be simply a well-bound thinner paper softcover edition).... it's all about the music, sounds, studio banter and creation process of the songs/albums!

It's hard to believe (unless a separate documentary soundtrack album is forthcoming) that they didn't include a cd of the complete rooftop concert. Also, I am left scratching my head and feeling underwhelmed and overpaying for a set that doesn't have a full cd of the best of all the cover songs they did during the sessions; a cd of all the unreleased material from the sessions (Commonwealth, Get Off, No Packistainis, ect.); put all the Glyn Johns album mixes on a cd; and if this box set doesn't scream for a full cd of evolution mixes (I mean they recorded like 25 versions for every song on the official release) I don't know what does, which should also include the evolution of Know My Name, which the final vocals were recorded during these sessions, but the backing tracks date back to as far back as 1967; and they also could have included a cd of dialogue/fly on the wall type material. Instead, we get a 4 song Ep? Wot!?! Let It Be/Get Back sessions are my favorite because I love the raw feel, but have to say, really disappointed in this release. A shame they have to grab more money from us for an additional soundtrack cd(s).

I agree that the rooftop concert should be included in this set. I was a bit surprised it wasn’t part of it but maybe sometime in the future. Not sure how much of the new Disney+ doc will show of it.

Something that strikes me as odd is the format of the book. It's quite clear to me from watching your video that the 4-LP-version slipcase is a 12" by 12" format (how could it be anything else?) while the CD-deluxe-slipcase is a book proportion format, perhaps like the White Album CD multi-CD format. That would nacessitat two different formats of the hardcover book. Or a tray included with the LPs that accomodates the narrower book? (We had that before, didn't we?) Keeps me wondering. do you know?

I've ordered the super deluxe vinyl version. I know that if I don't and decide I want it later it will cost even more than the current wallet busting price. I know it's expensive but at the end of the day it's only money and it makes me happy to have the vinyl. There are some hardcore collectors out there who will buy it and never unwrap it but, the second that package arrives, I will be opening it and whacking it on the turntable.

I ordered the super deluxe cd set to help complete my library and upgrade the unofficial releases. The packaging looks great! I don't expect there is much that I do not have in the new collection but I am curious about improvement on the sound of the material. I have two, gatefold no poster red apple versions, one 80's Capital version, 80's vinyl box set version, 80's cd version, 2014 cd box set version, the Let It Be Rehearsal Sessions bootleg and an early 2000 cd version of Get Back labeled as a Russian release. It has 13 tracks including "Teddy Boy" and the long version of "Dig It". These "Russian releases featured two albums on one cd. Yellow Submarine album was paired with the Get Back album while they curiously paired Let It Be album with Parlophone's Rarities album. Add the recordings included on the Anthology releases and I think I have everything covered. It's The Beatles! Of course I'm gettin it!

If you buy the vinyl box set, you can almost be sure that the music is not as compressed as on both CD versions, with a little more dynamics as a result. A cartridge cannot play a cut signal.

This is about all versions of One After 909. All Beatles have played that tune. Even Stu and Pete played the earliest versions. Fast forward to the Get Back and Let It Be. Is Billy Preston on those.

I have no interest in Gile Martin's interference with the original release, not having enjoyed his previous work, which sounds terrible to me. There's so much more they could have included in this release as well. I feel short-changed.

Kyle, Been a baby boomer Beatles fan since the early 1960s, I believe you will be surprised to know that this Let it Be special edition super deluxe box set will be the highest selling right behind that of The White Album ...it's been 52 years in the making since 1969, and Let it Be has always been a much maligned underrated album and period for The Beatles, and fans. The albums songs are sterling, raw, resilient and are awaiting to be rediscovered with the remix, and the finally to be released outtakes and the Glyn Johns album. Just think about it for a moment, how much more powerful the Let it Be / Get Back album might of been to include George Harrison song All Things Mhst Pass. Just to have the original Get Back concept album with the Beatles at the infamous EMI building is phenomenal. Even Abbey Roads is overhyped and a too slick studio release, where as Let it Be / Get Back is hard charging, raw and " As Nature Intended "...and you're correct, there's more to come from the Get Back documentary release - This will be the Beatles Get Back moment, I will be getting both the Super Deluxe Cds box set, and the super deluxe vinyl set as well!! Worth the Wait.

Hi Kyle! Wonderful overview of the upcoming release. I have to wonder why the original mix/version wasn't offered at least on the BLU Ray disc! It doesn't matter to me as someone who bought the record 51 years ago upon release, but it just seems odd that the original version is omitted. With the CD EP only having 4 short songs, even there would have been an easy place to offer that first mix. Thoughts? Thanks again.. Of course, these greedy ol bastards will get more of my money!! HA.. After all these years, I can't stop now!!

I have mixed feelings about including the original mix. Everyone that buys the box already has that mix. Almost nobody that picks this up is buying Let It Be for the first time. I'd rather not be charged for another disc that I already have. (In my case, both the original LIB CD and the 2009 remaster.) And I'd rather they include a disc of new/unreleased material than use that disc for something so common. All that being said, the box set certainly would have been more "complete" if the original mix was included, at least on the bluray disc, as you said.

hey kyle...always great to hear from you....as far as the let it be special editions, as you know, i don't like cds and i don't buy cds....but putting that aside, i am surprised that the deluxe cd set only just contains a blu-ray rather than a choice of blu-ray or dvd...i don't know a single person who owns a blu-ray player...i know some do, but i don't...so even if i was to get the cd set, the blu-ray would be a waste for me and others...but you are the only one i know who said what i've been thinking...that the 'missing' pieces, like the rooftop concert, will fit into the peter jackson documentary, both on home video and soundtrack release....it's disney, so it's probably exclusive...be well my friend...stay well...peace always....rocky

Many deluxe editions actually include both DVD and bluray. Pink Floyd has done that, for example. The downside to that is that it adds more discs (and a higher price) without adding more material.

Well, I like half of the. The main album jacket remains with the classic cover art, as does the bluray version, and that seems appropriate. I also like that the Glyn Johns Get Back disc uses the cover art that was originally intended for that proposed album. But the other three covers are just... meh.
