Tbh I think the $1,000,000 is suppose to be in yen ¥, which today in 2024 is $6,363.20. But back in 1997 when red and blue came out it would be $3,251.81. A lot of money for a kid, idk if these bikes where like pro Tour de France bikes or something or the guy was ripping ppl off. Which tbh he was bc there should have been some standard bikes that would cost like $100 or $200 dollars for a kid. Hell I think an average kid bike back then was like $75-150 for like a teen or preteen bike
