Looking forward to your future videos. How much did the yacht cost? Should do a video on the buying process and bureaucracy, I've heard it's very involved.
@sailingwishfulthinking Жыл бұрын
Thanks Leo! We'll make a future video about the boat buying process, costs etc 😊 The process overall wasn't too bad, just lots of little steps. If you have any particular questions in the meantime though just let us know!

Yes, that would be great to do a video on the whole process as I am also interested in doing what you have done and would love to hear all about it. Why you chose what you did,where you found the best place to find it, etc etc. Cheers from Newcastle Australia

Hi Emily and Ryan, You have a great channel and I am enjoying watching your trips. Although a few years older, we are going to do the same adventures. When you bought the boat, which broker did you use and would you use them again? Did you have just the one boat lined up when you arrived in Preveza and only when there see the Moody? I am planning to go to that area at the end of August and finding it somewhat daunting in choosing an area. Preveza does seem thick with boats. Any advice would be welcome. John

Thanks John, appreciate it! Your plans sound exciting. We bought the boat through Network Yacht Brokers. They were nice enough but very slow with the paperwork. They were selling the boat we wanted though so we had no choice but to go through them. I think the priority is finding the right boat, then just dealing with whatever broker has it. There were a few in Preveza that we viewed boats through - Creo, Yacht Broker House, Williams and Smithells etc. We viewed a couple of Beneteaus but they were in poor condition. We chose to go to Preveza because there were lots of boats and luckily found one we liked there. For the right boat though it would be worth travelling to other places in Greece or further afield if need be. There was one on Leros island in Greece we also liked, but we found the Moody beforehand. I made a video with info about boat buying in Greece, here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnzbg4NpqaiphdUsi=fI8UzV7XL4RrkG2u I haven't made it public yet but happy to send it to people who it might help 😊 Happy to answer any other questions you might have. All the best!

Hi Diego, thanks for your comment! We plan to make a future video about the boat buying process and costs, but if you Google Moody 425 yachts for sale you'll get a rough idea of what we paid 😉

Great to see another channel on KZbin of sailing adventures Ep1 had some amazing footage and you’ve chosen a really good boat. One tip if you will allow me! Contrary to the word out there not every viewer/subscriber is a randy starved male so please do not sink to titivating click bait to attract viewers. Our family would prefer you to cover up a bit when recording videos (what you want to wear or not off camera is no problem) Thanks and great sailing and adventures Nick
@sailingwishfulthinking7 ай бұрын
Cheers Nick! If you watch the rest of our videos you'll see that we haven't gone down the click bait path. Occasionally I'm wearing bathers in the videos, because that's generally what we wear in summer when we're swimming off the boat. No different to Ryan being shirtless on the boat 90% of the time 😂

Hi guys, I have liked and subscribed and look forward to following along with you on your new adventure. I would be interested to know how you came about choosing your 425? Were you shopping on a type of boat, length or price? Also, I would be interested to know what you ended up paying for her. Cheers from Newcastle Australia
@sailingwishfulthinking Жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony! 😊 We were looking for a GRP boat at least 38ft suitable for cruising as liveaboards as well as crossing oceans. We were considering production boats as well but the Moody 425 happened to become available while we were searching in Greece and we loved it. Ryan had his eye on Moodys for ages and this one happened to be within our budget and was exactly what we'd been looking for. We'll talk a bit more about cost etc in a later video 😉
@PeterAcrat Жыл бұрын
Wow - Ryan just DOES NOT LIKE to look at the camera does he! Best you get real comfortable with it mate. Feels ultra weird as a viewer watching someone who is apparently 'communicating' _with_ you as they send their attention everywhere else; for what seems like minutes.
@sailingwishfulthinking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Peter. Not an easy thing to do talking to the camera - doesn't come naturally to us but we're working on it. I think we've improved a lot in our latest video!
