I would agree, good to have this verified, all be it empirically. I have had similar experiences, recently bought a 26 year old motorcycle that has less than 12k miles on it but 6 previous keepers and is in almost showroom condition, indeed the only issues I have found have most likely been caused when it's been serviced in a workshop that may not have been marque specific. On the other hand, a recent car purchase had only 2 previous keepers (one of which was the dealership) which has been a treasure trove of bodges and poor maintenance.

What are your thoughts on high mileage but with a full comprehensive history,I’ve seen f types with 50000 miles and expensive issues while others on 120000 miles and zero issues.

That's a good question. A poor service history is a worry, but you have to work out where to draw the 'poor' line. A low-mileage car which has been serviced regularly, and always within the mileage schedule, is not a worry, but a car which has gone lengthy periods without attention, whether high or low mileage, is a concern. This has to be looked at case by case; every used car purchase is a compromise...

Well put over Tim . I think it doesn't matter if a car as 2 or 10 owners, service history I think is a better way to look but then As it been serviced by main dealer or a independent one , or even a DIY home ?. When I wash my car and detail it .I also spend a hour on the engine bay , my brother-in-law says to me why bother with that ?. But it makes me happy keeping my car clean inside and out. One thing I would say is, I find people today don't buy a car to enjoy it, they buy it as a means to go to work and transport the family about ,and I think the government don't won't you to enjoy your car , look how Europeans going with speed limeters ?. But that's a nother story. But good KZbin tim thanks.
