When I was working for a major car company a dealer told me a story. A celebrity had ordered a Lamborghini but for some reason had backed out of the deal. They put the car in front of the dealership to attract traffic. Soon a scruffy looking person was seen to be walking around the car; but only the most junior salesperson was even willing to go out to speak with this person. He turned out to be a wealthy Canadian hotel owner--and he bought the car. Lesson learned--don't judge the customer based on looks!

Absolutely not. First of all, he came into the parking with a very basic car, showing hints that he's not a potential buyer since lambo buyers usually come into the parking with at least a BMW. That was beautifully satisfying. The interesting part to this story is the salespeople cannot afford the very cars they are selling so it is kind of ironic they look down on those who don't fit the stereotype of wealth. As a side note, old money rich families never flaunt their wealth so you can never really be sure of what they have whereas new money rich is flashy, exposed and often highly suggestive to having more than they have.

Can't you see in the first video that as soon as the customer ( which is the man from this video ) parked the sale executive quickly said that it's only for customers that's clearly a sign of unfair judgement plus in the history of selling cars no one asked how much is your salary, you know why I know this because the same exact scenario happened to me I was about to buy a car that I like but this dealer quickly said I can't afford to buy a luxury car even though I own one maybe because I was using my daily car which is a mirage so I guess they quickly judge me for what I have, long story short this is just a social experiment and clearly you can see how awful these humans can be.

You're the ass clown if you waste your time on people like this. If you're a car salesman worth employing, your profiling is going to be correct 99 times out of a 100, so why even bother wasting your time on that slim chance you might be mistaken? Adding to that, as luxury car salesman you’re bound to have a lot of poor whack jobs coming in just to drool over the cars they can’t afford, which is costing money in terms of lost sales due to undesirable wear and tear and less pristine presentation. The car salesman wasn’t kidding when he told the ass hat not to fuck up the wax, which the fucker deliberately did to cause a reaction from the car salesman to put in his prank video. In other words, this asshole was trying to make youtbue money by costing this innocent car dealership money.

Great video. I was at a very high-end mall in Washington DC several years ago and decided to check out one of the watch boutiques. While in there, I noticed a man with two daughters enter. He was wearing old cargo shorts, a plain black t-shirt, khaki USA ball cap, and flip-flops, and his kids were chatty and high-energy. This clearly annoyed the staff and the security guard in the store began paying closer attention to him. Then, he asked to see a Patek. Instead of breaking out the leather trifold and gloves to show him the watch, the salesman offered to show him something else. The man politely insisted, so the staff reluctantly pulled out the watch, polished it, and presented it. After a couple of minutes, the man replied, “I’ll take it.”, and presented the salesman with a black card. The salesman never saw it coming and was clearly embarrassed at having underestimated the guy’s buying power. When the salesman retrieved the box and began to pack the watch, the man said, “No thanks. I’m going to wear it now. C’mon, girls, let’s go.” I wish I knew who that guy was, because he sure had great taste in watches.

Even let me sit in a couple AM and Bentleys. I guess it depends on the lot and salemen/women. I don't believe the way you dress or what you drive up in matters as here in Florida I've seen people ride up on bikes, hop off the bus and more. When I will be ready to change my car next year, I am not going to visit any other brand or haggle on price.I am going to walk into the nearest Audi showroom and buy an Audi. I bet when that guy walked in, from the way he carried himself, the way he talked, the way he conducted himself you could tell that his appearance was deceptive. Or am I wrong?
@lancesouth11013 жыл бұрын
You can't do that with cash here in the United States. (Anymore) Anything over $10,000 has to be reported. Either you have a pre-approved loan or you get in -house financing

@@anandmehta2323 I could tell, but only because my uncle is a framer like him. He was loud and obnoxious. In Malta they generally used to make good money (land prices and new taxes have changed this now) and will not spend a penny on anything when they can avoid it. Except for when it comes to property, gold and cars. They also used to not trust banks. Hence the big cash purchase. Not so much nowadays, there are still some like that.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I would have loved to see all sales people faces. Reminds me when I worked at a retail lawn and garden store. Its was a Sunday and customer had sandles shorts and a t-shirt on. No one else would help the man. So I simply ask if he had any questions, yes he did. So a short while later he bought top of line Honda mower, tiller and a few misc. things to the tune of over two thousand dollars. Paid with a check. Done. Oh and it was my dads store. Many life lessons learned there. :)

I had a new place and needed some furniture. I picked it out and could not find a salesperson. Well the owner saw me wandering and asked if I needed some help. She then got me a salesperson. I dictated everything I needed - just over $30k. I could see the owner looking at the salesperson with the, "you almost let this guy get away" look. But the sales person won the monetary award for the highest sale that day.

This happened to me once. I was 100% ready to buy a car one day, but the salesman refused to take me for a test drive. It was really busy in the dealership that day. I left, Googled the next nearest dealership, and bought the same exact car that day.

This video reminds me of a story my father told me that I will always remember. When my father and mother were younger, in their late 20’s I believe, they were in a high end clothing store looking to buy a fur coat for my mom. My mom always wanted a nice fur coat so she saved up money until she could afford one. My father was a bricklayer at the time and had just got off work so he was in his dirty work clothes. All of the sales people wouldn’t pay any attention to them. Eventually the store owner came over to them. He told them that he learned to never ignore a customer because of their appearance and that it’s actually good for him that the salespeople ignored them because he won’t have to pay anyone commission. They paid cash for a coat and left. My father is now a business owner and self made multimillionaire and has been told that he hasn’t changed a bit from his humble beginnings. He has continued to not underestimate a customer based on appearances, and I intend to do the same.

That happened to me once too. I was looking to buy a new car and went with my Brother to look at an Audi Dealership. We were both in jeans and t-shirts and not one person in the Dealership would take more than 20 seconds to answer a question then walk away. The Dealership is used to dealing with wealthy Chinese Customers and all the Staff were Asians (mostly Chinese) and because we were not Asian, nor did we "appeared to be wealthy", they did not want to help us. I literally left the Dealership, drove 5 minutes down the road to the BMW Dealership and bought a new fully loaded X1 on the spot. Never judge a book by its cover folks!
