Good luck just finding a decent boat these days. Most people think they have a gold mine and ask ridiculous money for junk. I just went through it. You drive an hour or more to see a boat that looks nothing like the pictures. People asking $7500 for a rotted out interior, wiring that is a disaster and engines not running. Then if you find a decent boat there's a problem trailer 😂 it's crazy. I just finally bought a boat $6800. The hull interior and stringers are in beautiful shape the deck is solid and transom is excellent. I still have to fix some electrical connections (no shrink wrap) but very simple fixes with wiring that is well organized. Theres always something to repair on a used boat so expect it and don't let it scare you. It's rewarding as hell to bring an old good boat to life and you know your boat. I as usual have to deal with some trailer issues but I wasn't passing this boat up. Look for boats that were at least covered and from my own experience a center console boat is by far the easiest boat to repair and maintain.

@@thebraveangler I ended up with a Bayliner Trophy pro. It's a 1903 CC. I tried to stay away from Bayliner but here I am rocking a Bayliner🤣 it's the cleanest boat with the least amount of work needed I could find. Of course once again the trailer is a problem. It's a good trailer but the last guy didn't register it so I have to get it weighed and the VIN # is missing. I really liked your video.

I personally wouldn’t put money in anything less than a 150 hp bass boat,,The number one thing to look for is if the transom is rotten, years ago I bought a Skeeter with 150 Yamaha,, I took it a shop to have the motor checked out, then they showed me the transom flexing, that boat was in better shape than yours, most of those old bass boats that look like that have rotten transoms, I bought a 1990 Basscat I bought new, I sold it a few years ago and it was still brand new cause I stored it in my garage,i will never buy a boat stored outdoors ,,I saved and bought a 20ft Bullet with a Mercury 225,,, THE FIRST THING TO CHECK IS THE TRANSOM, grab the motor and pull back with your weight and see if transom flexes, I wouldn’t gave more than a 1000 for that boat, I payed 1100 for my Skeeter with 150 sold it immediately for 2k You do know their are some nice used bass boats that you don’t have to re carpet, rebuild, that aren’t all faded ,I guarantee that transom is rotten, I’m not trying to be mean, that boat needs way to much work and you payed to much and it was gonna take a guy that doesn’t no that much about boats to pay what you did! ✌️

Appreciate the feedback, I can see your point of view. The boat market in and around your area will definitely dictate the price of boats. Unfortunately, the market in my area was high at the time we got our boat. But it’s been a solid boat, the transom is solid but I appreciate your concern. But we didn’t pay $2900 for this boat. As stated in the video we traded an old truck for it and has been well worth it. I do hope other viewers can find value in the information you provided.

Yea we didn’t pay that. We traded an old truck for it and I can say it’s been well worth it. However, if I could do it again, I would have got a 20’ bass boat with rod storage.
