Hi there is, but the prices depends on your car’s make and model. You can also go for the Carly features which allows you to diagnose features for all cars Brands

Can ask the owner/dealer politely. If they allow a mechanic to inspect the car then plugging in an OBD can be considered part of the checks. And if the dealer doesn’t allow you to inspect the car, that’s a huge red flag so stay far away!

Before buying if dealer says already went through inspection and passed, is it good enough? Without using this device

It’s unlikely for them to do that because they won’t know how long after the inspection the car will be sold. They could’ve gone for inspection when they buy in the car, but the car only got sold a few months later. But if this is the case, it’s best to ask for proof (e.g STA inspection report etc.) . I personally don’t quite trust any workshop reports coz you’ll never know the relationship between them and the dealer

Before I bought a car.... I send to STA, came back grade B... End up problem starts to surface few weeks later.... Engine mounting... Engine host.. coolant tank.... Suspension wearing....
