Well... They aren't miracle workers and did the best they could, I think. Might have changed their minds due to the other two predators they got the idea to add. Or added them because they didn't know how they could possibly pull off the dark and pressure part... The freezing cold water might have been an issue too. 🤔 BUT you're not wrong-- they told us they were going to do one thing and went a completely different direction 😅

That plastic traffic cone has toxins in it. They will leach into the water. Soft plastic like that has chemicals in it to make it soft. I had a sixty gallon salt water tank several years ago. I would never put a traffic cone with hot glue into my tank. And dropping a fish from one temperature of water into another is not how you transfer fish. You put them in a bag with the original water and slowly mix them together with the fresh so the fish doesn't go onto shock. Then when it has adjusted you can keep transferring it like that to a totally clean tank.

This includes any fish within the family Lophioidei (Goosefish), Chaunacoidei (Coffinfish), Ogcocephaloidei (Batfish), Ceratioidei (Deep-Sea Anglerfish), and Antennarioidei (Frogfish, like the one here). The order is commonly referred to as Anglerfish because of the lure that many species in the order like this Frogfish utilize to catch prey like a fisherman. Not all Anglerfish have a lure, because the common name predates modern genetic taxonomy. But they're completely correct, Frogfish are NOT Deep-Sea Anglerfish, but they are Anglerfish, and the name is derived from the lure on the head of many species in that Order.

I think they've housed actual anglerfish in the Monterey Bay Aquarium before - but a big aquarium like that has the money to create a specialized tank. And also, I'm not sure that deep sea fish technically need to be under all that pressure to survive; the reason they usually die at the surface is because they changed pressures too fast to acclimate, but there are ways to very very slowly acclimate them to lower pressures so that their organs don't swell up or explode.

I am so happy to have found your KZbin channel. I used to keep African cichlids in one massive tank and gorgeous discus in another massive tank. My aquariums where my world. My Africans bread frequently and I then got into breeding my discus. I would sit for hours watching them interact and the babies grow from little fry to exquisite adults. I did this for years and my adult discus grew to amazing sizes and different colours. Unfortunately I started to get osteoarthritis in all my joints and had to sell all my fish, aquariums and gear. I was heartbroken 💔. My discus were my favourite fish and I still think of all my fish today. I can only pray they all lived happy and healthy lives. I'm now in a wheelchair until I can get all my joints replaced, but I'll never be able to keep fish again. Your enthusiasm and beautiful fish and aquariums had me transfixed. That angler fish is so beautiful. I couldn't bare to see those fish in that horrible tank and totally neglected. Poor fish. I'm so glad you managed to save some of them. You are my favourite channel now. I'll be watching your other videos, for sure.
