honestly the seperate toilet from the bathroom is pretty genius when you think about it. I live in a 1 bathroom house, and anytime anyone wants to shower or take a bath it occupies *the only toilet in the house,* so being able to bathe and not worry that your taking up the singular place people have to go potty actually sounds really nice

As a North American, my dream is to have my own place with a customized Japanese style bathroom, with a separate room for the can. When I'm doing my daily ablutions and bathing, I don't want to be next to the toilet. I don't even want to see it.

It needs to have a sink though. My sister's last house in England had two separate toilet rooms that just had toilets in them, no sinks. WTH is up with that, who thought that was ok??? :D

I feel like rent in japan is how it should be in the US except for the Key money and Gift money part. Just application fee, background check and 1st month upfront. Rental market and housing market in US is just shit right now. Insane. Cost of living goes up yet paycheck stays the same...wtf

$300 sounds a little excessive for an HOA type fee. My house HOA is $150 and it comes with a half size Olympic community pool, tennis courts, and community park. My condo's HOA is $120 and again it has small community pool and boat docks.

I actually love how they separate the toilet from the bathroom in Japan. It's not at all relaxing to take a bath (where you also wash yourself) right next to a fn toilet. Japan is doing things right.

My grandparents Edwardian home (Ontario) had then separate too. And a laundry chute in the toilet room. I don't know why they stopped making those because every floor had one and it made it so much easier.

"a woman is never yours, its only your time". Edit: buy a flat in your name asap, cash if needed. Doesnt have to be fancy. Then rent it out on f.ex a 3 month lease at a time. So you got your own backup home just in case.
