Fun fact the back of the green “chair” comes off and clicks right into the spot that unfolds from the other piece to create the bed!!! Grew up with this barbie doll so many good memories!!!!

I believe this has to be one of if not the best Barbie doll house. Glad to see that there's no pink in sight. I think that barbie pink has been overdone, nothing wrong with pink but when everything is done in that colour it's just overkill, that's just my opinion. I like it when dollhouses and furniture in 1/6 scale looks realistic. New subscriber here, great video!

I used to have this house. It is my all-time favorite of the small fold-up houses. The only thing I didn't like about it was Barbie had to wash her dishes in the bathroom. What was fun was that is came with little envelopes and paper and postcards so Barbie could really get mail through her letter box. It's been a long time so I may not be remembering correctly, but I think the back of the chair comes off to cover the middle section when making the bed. I use Q-tips and alcohol to clean up the battery compartment from the battery acid corrosion. That might help make it so you can fix the sounds. Have fun with your acquisition : )

Very cute house. I love the details in the tiny space. For sure you got a lot more for the money in 2005. However, this is the case with real houses too. When I moved to my city in the early 2000s, you could get a nice house in a good neighbourhood for $300,000, but now it would be $1M. I am one of the people knocking Mattel for their quality (and quality control), but, to be fair, I think in all areas except for electronics (where improvements in technology bring costs down) inflation of production costs is a real factor. It makes me sad, because I would like kids to be able to have nice stuff without "obtaining" it in questionable ways. On the plus side, I think the standard of living has gone up in the countries where these dolls are made, so there is always that brighter side.

Hi, I have had much success cleaning battery acid covered contacts with a cotton swab dipped in Coke (or other cola). Save the last few mouthfuls of your soda, pour a small bit into bottle lid, change out swabs as they get dirty. Use clean swabs to dry the area completely. Hope this helps. :)

OMG I have been wanting this house! ❤️ To be honest though one of the biggest reasons I want it is for the washer and dryer :P soooo much better than the single-story folding houses of today. In the single-story folding house as of today no fridge no washer and dryer no couch… You can buy all of that, but separately of course. And if you want a washer and dryer for example the combo laundry unit with Ken those for $37 RN on Amazon... fridge $39... so house $34 + laundry $37 + fridge $39... = like $100 😱 if you want a one story house with all of the neat little pieces today! At that point you’re better off just getting the Malibu house or the dream house SMH. Vs this little house that you have! Wonder how much it retailed for back in 2000/2005? #BlindDollyGirl 👩🏻‍🦯

I believed it retailed for around $25-$30 back in the day. The house was a triumph at the time. It is heavy and textured beautifully executed with fantastic realistic colors

Thought the bowl was popcorn, but maybe it's mashed potatoes to go with the turkey? I think the freezer doesn't open because the battery compartment is there? I saw someone make the bed. The middle cushion piece was attached to the back of the chair, or headboard when it's a bed. You got the Ottoman figured out. Hope your chair has the removable back piece that completes the bed. That's a pretty cool design to be living room or bedroom I have to admit. I'm still looking to see if anyone has the fold up house I had in the 60's. Not as elaborate as this one. I gave it to neighbors before i had kids, their twin girls ripped the table apart while I was still there. Grrrr. I kept it safe for decades. It had a pink roof, folded out from the left and right. Right side was the kitchen with a plastic table stuck to the floor, left side was the bedroom. There was a round pink chair that was movable, pretty sure there was a fireplace . Oh! The center compartment was about 4 inches wide, but had floors that also folded down to either side. The bed was attached to one side and it could flip up so you could store some clothes under the bed. Not as many pieces as this one

The doll house is very cute, I like the shower but what is up with the toilet, was this Mattel’s way of “potty training” little girls. Did kids dress their dolls only to undress them to sit on the toilet? LOL I’ve seen this doll house in various bits and pieces on eBay and they are Expensive! Enough said. Here’s my rant... Why is the Ken 60th Anniversary Silkstone sold every where else in the World but not yet the USA, isn’t Ken an American? When he comes to America, are you going to do a review of him Jeffrey? Haha Barbie houses typically come with toilets. It’s pretty common especially in the food up houses. The 60th ken doll reminds me of the dummy from Goosebumps but I also like the Silkstone material so I might get him and more often than not we get stuff here in the USA first. There’s so many European and Pacific Islander countries who get stuff months to a year later than us. So it’s okay if the role is reversed every once and while. He’ll be available eventually probably on Amazon sooner than Mattel.com.

That’s the first time I have ever heard a CRT TV called thick. 😆 anyway, if the batteries corroded inside the battery housing, you will need to scrub out the housing, making sure the contacts have been cleaned (wool brush) will do it. If you really want to restore it, you could always carefully disassemble and clean it and use a 3D printer to make anything you need to replace on the plastic front.

I have this house and had to clean the battery acid out of mine too. We put new batteries in and repeatedly pushed the sound buttons. At first there was no sound, then a blurred sound and then it worked. Maybe the components are dusty. I thought you might want to try the buttons again. Good luck and I love this house.

Great review I have two of these house got them off eBay a few years back one in great shape without furniture one missing the window and curtains the ottoman chair if you look at the back you can remove the cover plate that you attach to the ottoman after you open it to make it a complete bed
