Honda has been going down hill for years. The Honda V-twin engines are entirely made in China, every single part is made in China. Most of their other engines are probably made in China too.

I'm sure it blew A head gasket and head. You should be able to clean it out with brake cleaner and reuse your valve cover off of the original head on that engine still. You'll just need to use the new gasket seal with your original valve cover cleaned up and measured to see if their the same exact original valve cover. I believe those PVC valves can be tightened.,or tentchened by using needle nose pliers to squeeze in the flap tangs tighter.
