Hey Trev, the vision jet can go over 30,000 feet. For some reason MSFS says every planes ceiling is 13000, also, the reason you're not getting full thrust out of your engines is FADEC (what controls the engines) limits thrust to conserve fuel when autothrottle is enabled.

Typically when climbing, you are climbing at a set airspeed (around 160 knots in the vision jet) and not at a vertical speed(FPM). Push the button that says "FLC" and use the wheel to set your airspeed. FLC stands for flight level change. That way you don't have to constantly check your airspeed and you don't risk stalling. And then when you descend, you use vertical speed. You set like 1500-2500 fpm and adjust your throttle.
@vinchenzomarchiavafa962Ай бұрын
There is a bug in the game that causes you to not receive any salvage value payment from insurance, so you would be saving a lot of money by buying the basic insurance. The KZbinr Squirrel posted a video about MSFS 2024 career advice and it details this and a few other things that you should know.
@_________________________9790Ай бұрын
Hey Trev, when using the autopilot to head toward a waypoint you can press on that specific waypoint in the lower level screens and press the d with an arrow through it which will take you directly to that point, also the vision jets Vr speed (when you should take off) is between 80-90 kts with flaps at TO or the first setting of flaps. Once you take off you should pitch the nose down to roughly 5-7.5 degrees to increase your speed to 115 at which you would retract the flaps. When climbing you should climb at Vy which on the vision jet is 165kts to consistently climb at that speed you can press FLC on the autopilot which will pitch the nose to keep your speed at 165kts while you are climbing. Lastly when taking off there is a trim meter on the left screen, when taking off the POH says to set the trim to 6 degrees. Typically pilots will set it around 5 degrees because they find 6 to pitch the nose up a little to much during the climb out. Hope this helps I love the videos keep it up! (EDIT) When above 18,000ft you should press in the altimeter knob which is just right of the PFD (main screen on the left) this sets your altimeter to Standard this is why the ATC said to climb up to FL240 even though you were already there
@trottheblackdogАй бұрын
And there's a speed limit of 250 knots below 10,000 feet. Also you will usually be required to have landing lights on at that altitude when on approach.

The Vision Jet has a 5 min limit on take off thrust. This is probably why you weren't getting full thrust while trying to climb to FL24. If you look at your PFD there is an alert that says Take Off Thrust. Just pull back slightly on your throttle and you'll back it out of T/O Thrust and the Fadec will more than likely give you more power for the climb. Great video though!

Hey Trev! I'm loving the series! Just a small tip on the autopilot that may help - you don't need to manually adjust the heading to get closer to the planned flight plan before switching over to the NAV mode, you can just select the NAV mode from the beginning and the aircraft will automatically intercept and follow the route. So even if there's turns it'll just eventually take you along the route. Keep the awesome content coming! :)

People clown on the Vision Jet because it has one single jet engine (that isn't the strongest) and thus isn't a speed demon. But I've always liked and appreciated it. It's the same with car guys "You bought WHAT for $4 million dollars when you could have had THIS instead" conversations constantly. It's hard to not like Cirrus planes...even if you don't like their prices.

Big Bear is okay. However places like Jackson Hole, WY; Aspen, Vale, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Telluride in Colorado; Park Mountain and Sundance in Utah; and Big Sky, Lost Trail Powder Mountain, and Red Lodge Mountain in Montana are much better. The one thing Big Bear boasts that the others can't is you spend all day skiing/snowboarding then drive 2 hours west and then go surfing or chill on a beach, though it would be a bit chilly.

Hey Trev , If you are unsure on how to slow down and descend just ask ChatGPT. Give ChatGPT your cruising altitude , speed and distance from destination and ask it when to descend ? For the climbs, dont set the autopilot to VNV, that stand for vertical navigation. That is going to do whatever it can to maintain the climb rate you set. As you get higher in altitude you will lose airspeed trying to hold that climb rate, and could cause a stall. Instead use the VS option, Vertical Speed. That sets a speed that the plane will hold in the climb and your climb rate will vary as you get higher in altitude.
@zoe..dАй бұрын
Close, but incorrect. You are describing how FLC or flight level change works. It varies pitch and vertical speed to maintain a set airspeed. Using VS means it will pitch for a certain feet per minute climb/descend with zero respect for airspeed. Means you can stall or overspeed the airframe very easily. Safest option is always FLC for altitude changes. VNAV is great for programmed routes that respects altitude restrictions at certain waypoints.

Trev, not sure if it is a bug or something they never actually implemented but there is no "painting" aircraft. The option is there, but on every A/C I have tried to do it on the A/C just stays white with no options available. Just like I hate that when buying A/C you don't have the option to change the Registration number for it. These are some of the small things I am hoping Asobo team will fix in upcoming patches cause it really takes away some of the fun in career mode.

LNAV is cool once you learn how to activate it. You have to study the specific airports vectors, minimums. Honestly I prefer doing manual landing unless I'm in larger planes
@bluedog1052Ай бұрын
If you pay like 700cr, you can move your pilot to any airport in an undiscovered location and it'll unlock all the jobs in that area you're qualified to do, not sure if the update fixed this but see how you go, also you can manually adjust your approach waypoints too in the GPS. There's an Ex Qantas 767 Freighter (VH-EFR) that was nearly sold but the sale fell through, that's just sitting in Alice Springs for the last 6 months you might be able to purchase, might make a good AirBnB with a good location and some interior tweaks, should start making a profit in about 30 years haha.
