Be careful buying from black lighters. They are very reliable and reputable but they price their rough VERY highly in general. I have not made my money back on almost anything I bought from them so I stopped and now I just watch them for entertainment. They’re so popular and so good at their selling routine that they command prices for rough that others can’t

BL are lovely people. However, you HAVE to know opal pricing fairly well. Otherwise, you risk paying too much. Mark is an excellent salesman. You can get good value with hundred dollar handfuls (Australian dollars). Hundred dollar handfuls are lower end quality, but still value there. Can also get good value on "clearance" nights, but you have to know prices.

Love the blacklighters although my favorite is The Bushmen! But I know sod all about facebook, do you register for the auction? how is payment made? I tumbled some bits of Mintabie opal and made wife a bead bracelet years ago and never done anything since though Murray keeps trying to tempt me. They are expensive now! I fancy trying cutting my first stone from easy rough with a bit of hidden potential. I dont like rubs as theres no surprise. Your 91st subcriber!

All you have to do is join there Facebook group. When you win your first auction you message them with your info. Thanks for watching!
