I TOTALLY AGREE! With all the different and sometimes difficult bureaucratic zoning laws it would also be great to report on where Tiny Houses are allowed to be. For example where can you buy a piece of property and be able to place a tiny home on it year round? What type of permits are required?

He kinda highlighted it towards the end but tiny houses seem to be the best route because you can place them on urban, rustic, or mixed property. Classic homes/yurts etc have super strict laws but the tiny houses since they are moveable give you a ton of flex

I'm Brazilian, and I live in the US. Portugal operates in a very similar way to Brazil. The American real estate market is very "professional", meaning houses are built fast, there's a system in place to buy and sell properties, and Americans have exploited every single way to make money in real estate. I loved to see how you combined your expertise with the opportunities of the "non-professional" market in Portugal.

I love how creative you and Christina are getting with it all. $25-$35k for building a tiny house from scratch does indeed sound affordable. ha! "shift your expectations regarding how long the process of building a home will take".... we've been asking around in our communities and they've got some stories! Really appreciate this video. We tried to put offers on a couple properties in our location, but didn't even make it to the write a formal offer step so I admire y'all's tenacity and ability to get deals done. Videos requested: 1) purchasing from a bank sale. 2) Step by Step on how to determine your offer, since PT doesn’t have MLS (like in the U.S.). 3) would love you to interview your account about various methods and strategies to know or be most effective in PT or even as a “small business” (rentals). 4) As often as y’all are moving around, I’m assuming your girls are homeschooled or school online. Great topic! I have heard that you cannot have a tiny house permitted on a piece of land without there already being a primary permitted house on the property. Can you speak to this? You may be referring to tax regimes in countries other than the U. S. The U.S. taxes it's citizens on worldwide income forever - without regard to residency. Americans file taxes even if they live their entire lives outside the U.S. and have never set foot on American soil. So, there is no departure tax because you can never depart.

When the Golden Visa program was open, this channel was helpful, and inspiring. Perhaps the program will reopen someday, but in the meantime there are other countries (Greece, Malta, etc) that have these programs available. Some for residency, some for eventual EU citizenship. Not all are created equal, and not all offer true retirement ‘benefits’. Happy for these two that they got themselves sorted in Portugal in time, but the advice is sadly no longer relevant.
