Overall, when the next generation comes and we are looking back on this gen with the rest. I think I'll say honestly say I had much more fun in the 360/PS3 era compared to this. I don't know if that's just being older, having less time etc, but the cod 4,5,6 days, halo 3 n all that along with the community and online service back then was just way more enjoyable. Games are so stale right now, the community is so MLG gfuel life n death sweaty twitch streamer wannabe, everythings digital and money grabbing micro transaction orientated, that it sucks the life and laughs out of it all. No wonder it seems like so many people are going back to retro gaming and last gen. Seriously hope things get better with the new gen coming.

Nah it ain’t just you man, I thought I might’ve been thinking the same way but I realized there was a different feel and sense when just hopping on 360 or PS3 (whichever console you owned) and seeing your boys on and getting a party chat going and hopping on either World At War, MW2, Halo 3, GTA IV etc, we don’t have that this generation. The games were not only overall better last gen, the sense of communication was kinda new and different, there was so much more sh*t talk, and online gaming was just hitting the main stream, if I could get similar vibes or feel with gaming for the rest of my life, just with new games and consoles every so many years of course, I would take it over a lot of other things in life in a heartbeat. I’ll never forget memories like that and sh*t like my best friend’s older brother playing Halo 2 online on the original Xbox and screaming throughout his basement lmao great times man

I still buy underrated games for other platforms. X-Men Origins was a nice surprise for me specially the gore. Dante's Inferno and Castlevania Lords of Shadow are damn good. Condemned 2, Singularity, Shadows of the Damned, Binary Domain, Space Marines, Ninja Gaiden trilogy, and Silent Hill Downpour are in my guilty pleasures, keep in mind my experience gets enhanced by a 7.1 Dolby Atmos surround sound.

Wolfenstein 2009 is a good game. Alot of people have dismissed it as mediocre, but it is fun as hell. It's a back to basics FPS with a fun premise with the Veil mechanic gimmick. I still have it on the 360, and I'm pissed that it wasn't made backward compatible on the XBOX ONE. Most of those third party games you have on PS3, are better console experiences on the 360.

Motorstorm Apocalypse is becoming a rare game to find new because when it released the 2011 Tsunami in Japan happened causing the release to be delayed and ultimately halved. Also Wolfenstein 09 is a gem shame that Raven team that made it is now delegated to making COD MP Maps.

You can use your PS4 Controller on the PS3 wired, it is the ideal way to play PS3 games, lag free faster response from the controller compared to wireless. However, if you do want a wireless PS4 controller on the PS3, then buy the 8bitdo PS1 classic wireless USB adapter that can connect any PS4 controller and it works for the PS3 and the Classic, disadvantage is that the face buttons X-O and Square to triangle are inverted left to right. So you're going to get confused in your control schemes, shooters a little less since the shoulder buttons are not affected. And yes, both ways. The PS4 Dualshock 4 Back buttons attachment work on the PS3 and PC as well, most likely the Dualshock 5 will also be compatible.

Rev, get the RPCS3 emulator set up on your PC. Most games aren't in a great state, but a few like Demon's Souls play fantastically (I recently beat it at 4K60).

When using the software mode with "1:1" emulation some games have bad framerate, but when you switch to GPU mode with better resolution some games freak out and loose effects etc. I imagine ps3 emu is way worse with this. But I might try it for Demon Souls one day.

@@vojnov9885 RPCS3 has come a long way, but it's still in alpha and most games have a long way to go before I'd recommend playing them. Demon's Souls is thankfully one of the exceptions, and if you have a good CPU (Ryzen 3000 or a highly clocked Intel 14nm CPU like the 9900k, 9700k or 8700k OC'd), 60 fps is more than achievable. I enjoyed emulating it far more than playing it on PS3, the resolution and frame rate increase make a huge difference.

Dead zone is the amount of stick movement that has no reaction. So basically if he tries to move the stick a tiiiny bit to line up a headshot, it may not actually register.

I still have my 120GB Slim PS3, though I use my PS4 controller on it. I have a ton of games I didn't play & liked going from PS2 to PS3, than PS3 TO PS4 IDKW. So now's the time to catch up...

I've recently plugged back my PS3 too haha! I've been replaying all the God of Wars, the Jak Trilogy, the Sly Cooper games, Castlevania Lords of Shadows, etc. I'm pretty much just excited for Ghost of Tsushima at this point.

Never got into the Jak & Daxter, Rachet & Clamk world on the PS, don’t know why. Maybe they just appeared too cartoony to me. But how’s the story and mechanics like?

you can use the ps4 controller on ps3 at least. need the ds3 close by for the PS button though.

*_Playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer on PS3 last summer before the servers got taken down, was some of the most fun I've had gaming all of this gen. Games nowadays just are nowhere near as good as they used to be. I got The Division 2 now with that crazy sale, so I'll see if this can bring me back to gaming, but I barely touch my consoles anymore._*

BTW getting a little technical here I'm planning to buy a ps3 super slim in the future And I plan on using an ssd It's not like I want to Save money by pirating I would love to do it Problem is super slim is newer and more reliable ik we can sideload games I have used it once and oh god it's a pain to install just a huge pain I rather buy discs than ever do that again So what I wanted to ask was is it a good idea to use a budget dramless ssd Bcs dram ssds are way to expensive I've heard there are problems bcs of something called trim and trash collection So do you think a wd green ssd 240gb for just save files and disc data in the long run is worth it

You could use dualshock4 on ps3. It has to be wired, and PlayStation button doesn’t work.
