I agree with your friend. I really liked the rounded rectangular(?)... oblong(?) watch. Do you kno2 what brand it was? Very cool looking. It had kind of a updated Soviet vibe.

@АндрейЛеусенко-д4е this is a big issue. Why are you avoiding talking about it? It would be interesting to know how it's viewed in Russia
@jettrd_utilitychnl4230Күн бұрын
reported by who? Because the optics realy depends. Mainstream is focusing more on the geopolitics of this war and Ukraine as a major but still one of the battlefields. An object and a tool in the conflict of big powers (and you can't actually argue with that) Military reporters - official media and solo stringers, voluntiers who shuttle to and from frontline - they give better on-the-ground picture. There are bloggers who make translated highlights of the western media narrative and those who can follow it in english or other language watch those sources from the other side directly. Also very important category of sources - ukrainian mainstream and few independent - those that never translated in english but of course they are mostly in russian so we can follow. So those who actually pay attention can have a very solid 3D picture. And overall consensus at least in my circle (40+, have seen some sh*t in life, good careers and education, at least 1 foreign language, know Ukraine very personaly, neither left nor right but rather on the center by political views) - Ukraine never was able to win the war with Russia and never going to win. Russia performs the classic russian way of waging wars - some usual shitshow in the begining and then a transition into a steady maybe slow but efficient and by the book immence force that grinds everything and everyone in its way. That is exactly what is going on by any trustworthy account and I personaly sure that at this point there is no real existing strategy or opposing power to back such strategy able to stop it by force. Only negotiations between the actors - US and Russia and only on the basis of RealPolitik without any of that liberal hegemony bullshit. Basicaly what I mean by that is Yalta Conference - 2

I do not think that all parts of Russian watches are made in Russia. They would be known for that. They can pretend that it is 100% made in Russia. Who can objectively certify that? Nobody for sure.
@dorinpopa647912 сағат бұрын
I am no watch expert but I believe a while back Russia bought the patent for a Swiss movement and started reproducing it within their Vostok watches
@jmand639 сағат бұрын
@@dorinpopa6479 Yes, it is correct. The Russian Watch Industry has had a long time cooperation with the Swiss, American, British, German watch industries starting in the 1880s and also during the Soviet era. As any industry, several technology transfers, local components' movements inspired and acquired abroad, license agreements have taken place. Like in other industry (automotive industry, mechanical, and engineering industries, and so forth).
