I think this model would be perfect for couples with babies!

The Living Vehicle is worth a peek-that trailer is A-MAZING. We had a 28 foot Airstream and sold it (for a profit-woohoo!!!) and we will look at a classic as well as the LV.

The LV does make some amazing trailers!

I absolutely LOVE LivingVehicle! They truly mastered a real home on wheels with all the creature comforts of a regular home... I just hate how expensive they are, but it's definitely worth it if you're going to live in it and travel!

For a crib in the office/nursery, I would mount a small murphy bunk along the back wall, under the cabinets that lays flat against the wall, out of the way when it's being used as an office and can pull it down, having it lay on the back corner of the desk for extra support. And then add one off those mesh extendable safety rail so baby doesn't roll out of the side. And for a BONUS, I would paint or decorate in some way, maybe with pictures or something the underside of the overhead cabinets, so the baby has something to look up at but doesn't make the office look like a nursery with like cartoon dinosaurs or something on the walls... unless you're into that lol

I love the look of Airstreams, only, I only know what I see on KZbin. So…I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ Why not go with the “Flying Cloud 30FB Bunk”? If you remove the bottom bed, you could put a crib under the top bunk, then when baby Dash is older, he can sleep in the top bunk and have floor space to play? And it would be less demolition to a new rig. You could use the top bunk for baby storage until it’s time to use it as a bed. Just a thought…

We put in a washer/dryer combo and love it. We have a 28RBT. Ultimate Airstream did it and it was 10K. We removed the dinette. Now we want to change the couch to a small dinette for two with a table like yours.

Oh, very cool! Did you enjoy your experience with Ultimate Airstream? We’ve heard nothing but good things.

Ultimate Airstream was so easy to work with. I made a couple of changes along the way and they were great with getting back to me quickly and sending me design graphics then actual picture as the build was being made.

I think the office is an amazing option to convert into a baby room. Not sure I would keep the desk but then it might be a resale issue. But it has closets/storage. The flying cloud has also the bunks model set up which you could remove to make a baby room as well on that same front queen bed set up

If the dog didn’t sleep there you could put babies there with a wooden gate/ barrier that wold keep toddler in.

Thanks so much for the tour! I am really liking the extra storage and the dedicated office space…we currently have the Globetrotter 27fb…storage is an issue!

Hello, I enjoyed the walkthru and have a question for Jameson. When you made the dinette into a bed, you had a cushion that went on top of the table to complete setup... was the extra cushion provided by Airstream?
@Wanderlocal Жыл бұрын
Great question. Yes, the cushions are provided by Airstream to covert the dinette to a bed. 🙌

I was just talking to friends who have the Airstream with the office and they love it. If I were to get an airstream, this would be the model I would get.

That little one is only going to get bigger maybe it's time o look at fifth wheels with slides and bunks . More room for the little guy to play and grow into . I would never do a camper without a slide again .

When you defrost your fridge- do you take it all out from freezer& fridge. I’m so nervous about dairy getting warm

Lori, we did! We took everything out. The good news is that it oily took a few minutes to defrost with the hair dryer. :)

We have an airstream 30’ office. It’s me my wife and two dogs. That table never goes up. We just use it as a giant couch all the times.

What a cool floorplan! Frozen ice in the freezers is unfortunately pretty normal. We put cheap, thin plastic cutting boards on the bottom of the freezer, and along the back wall. When it starts to freeze up, we just pull those off, and the ice just pops off. (Doesn't help the roof ice, but it's nice not having to use the hair dryer for ALL the ice LOL We also modified our 27 travel trailer (no slides) so we could get a washer/dryer combo in! I could never go back to no washer/dryer now!
@StephSH Жыл бұрын
I think the office floor plan is great for a baby- you could do a custom crib to set on top of the couch area (remove a cushion till Dash is older, and set the crib there, or customize the office space) or you could gut the office and make that a nursery. So many options if you aren’t afraid to make changes to the Airstream. Make it work for you :-). I bet Ultimate Airstream could do amazing things if you could get in there (I understand they are pretty booked up).

You guys got the crib that bed in the office just build a rail or maybe i didnt see it right? The baby doesnt care about what kinda crib, he cares his mommy does rip the airstream apart!! The washer dryer will be heaven sent!

Everyone has their own needs and ideas of what's right for them. I'm glad you guys are looking at all options and deciding based on YOUR needs. I will say, though, windows are a huge selling point for airstream. Storage is a huge selling point for 5th wheels. Rarely, if ever, will you find that perfect rig with both. For me, I'll never go back to bumper pull or no slide. The floor space, storage, and ease of use and towing are too good in my book. Find someone with a 5th wheel and tow their rig.

Do either of you plan on doing any solar or lithium upgrades?
@Wanderlocal Жыл бұрын
Great question, Quincy! This is at the top of our wish list. We'd love to add more solar ~ 1,000W, upgrade our inverter to ~ 3,000W, and add lithium (not sure how many we'd need).
@lorianntomkewitz409 Жыл бұрын
@@Wanderlocalgo with the @DryCampers for solar. They sit down with you and determine the amount of solar you need. They did an amazing job on our Airstream.

As the baby grows, that spot you would put baby is way too small. Babies come with a lot of things. Then add they grow, so does their wants and needs. Still not much room to learn to walk or run. There are many days you can't be out doors.
@tankscrittersandurbanhomes5579 Жыл бұрын
That back space is way too small, in my opinion, for a baby space. Without a gut job first.
@Wanderlocal Жыл бұрын
It would definitely require some modifications! :)

Having purchased BOTH the 30FBQ w/office & then the 30 RBT Classic I’ve got some input; *We purchased the 23 Flying Cloud office 11/22 & then after realizing it was NOT livable- traded in & purchased the 23 30RBT Classic. In the trade, we took a huge hit. But- ZERO regrets. 1 month into the Classic. Pros- (in no order) * heater is Sooo much quieter. * Living space w/ recliners are soo more livable. The Glying Cloud was HORRIBLE. NOT comfortable. * Dinning table in FC was cheap feeling & the seating area SUCKED * Indoor storage is better in Classic * Classic has better wheels and tires better for towing and safer * Power awning is soo much better. The manual on the FC was a 10 minute chore for a tall & strong person * Classic has the better solid surface counters and it DOES matter. * 23 Classic has larger better oven/microwave combo w/ a residential cooktop. * FC bathroom sink SUCKED it’s tiny, needed cleaning after one teeth brush session. Stainless Steel < white porcelain sink. Plus- 3X’s the size * Classic Twin has sooo more area for changing and 30% more larger outdoor space. * Classic has larger propane tanks * Bathroom area is larger, more counter space, laundry bin. * Flooring is better in Classic, not the laminate that the FC has * Storage in Classic twin bedroom is amazing. * Closet in Classic is double. * Front storage in FC is not easily accessible because propane tanks. Cons w/ Classic vs. Flying Cloud: * Shower is MUCH better in Flying Cloud. The foot area of the Classic is awkward and smaller. * The office- we full time & my husband works remotely, it’s just perfect for working remotely. * More drawers in kitchen flying cloud. * Under sink storage is superior in FC * The entry area was GREAT in the FC- there are lots of hangers for coats, hooks for keys and dog leashes a large cubby, shoe storage. Was awesome and probably my biggest miss. Pretty much my thoughts having owned both the 2023 Classic 30FBT & Flying Cloud 30FBQ Summary- if you can afford it- go w/ the Classic.

That “bench” in the office just needs a set of rails! If Dash fits that space now that’s a decent indicator on how long that space will work. LessJunk More Journey made a bunk for their eldest then altered it for #2 kiddo in their Airstream.
