Even though slimes don't look like the picture sometimes they are actually sometimes good. I really like airy clay slimes so I would had maybe like that green one that was really sticky but became a clay slime at the end.

Was the other Stitch slime that smelled like smoke blue also? Maybe it's a reaction between a specific colorant and the chemicals in the slime. If it was the manufacturer's place, I'd think both slimes out of the same pack would smell like smoke.
