I can see your property looking like that soon. Lambs ears are natures bandaid and medicinal too. Known to be used for toilet paper in the old days. Great job both of you. 👍🙋

Might keep one of those lambs ear and black scallop ajuga for parent plants. You will never have to buy it again. Great job on videos.

It's nice seeing Carlie She looks like she has grown over the summer.If I spelled her name wrong I'll apologize now. I would love to find a nursery like that one in my area. I'd say you had a good find and you both had a good day together You can't get better than that.

Great video…. I always like seeing other nurseries. Lots of great ideas. Since I started advertising my mums on marketplace, I decided to advertise some of the other plants to make it more worth while for the buyers. Mostly limelights and Weigela from early spring cuttings. I am not sure that I will have any of this size left to pot up. A good problem I guess.. We will see if I played my cards right this spring lol.. Good luck on your fall sale.. I have been seeing your adds and noticed that more of my friends have started following your page. God Bless!

Wow, the Ajuga is so big and beautiful. I have two Black Scallop plants and they are just babies compared to what you found. I highly recommend them e🍀specially for the color, so dark and rich. Thanks Carley for taking the road trip with your Dad and finding some really nice plants. 🌻🌱🌺🌸

Craig, So glad to see your kids being involved with the nursery...what a blessing it is (and will be for them when they look back to this time when they're adults). Questions: When you go to a new nursery like this, do you call ahead and provide your nursery information first? Do you set up an account and look at prices/selection prior to making the drive? Are you generally visiting wholesale nurseries in your same state (Alabama) or going into Tennessee also, and are there any things that make out-of-state buying more difficult? Keep up the great work along with building those memories!

New nursery info? I always call ahead and ask what I need to do to buy from them. I go out of state, as I live with 10 minutes of TN and 20 minutes of MS. I just go buy plants and bring them home. I don't ask any questions... I just get the plants. Thanks!!

Do you fertilize your green giants more than once a year. My understanding is that in general greens giants don’t need a lot of fertilizer but growing a plant in a pot is different. What do you find works best?
@savvydirtfarmer3 ай бұрын
Depends on the release time of the fertilizer. Some is 4 month release, some is 8. Also, any time I pot them into larger pots, new fertilizer.

@@savvydirtfarmer I used the same Florikan you use, I think it’s 140 day. Not sure of how much of that claim is marketing. I potter them up in July from 1 gals to 3 and put about 2 tablespoons on.

Do you need a wholesalers certificate to buy from places like that? Is there a minimum amount you have to buy to receive wholesale prices?
@savvydirtfarmer4 ай бұрын
I think they have a copy of my nursery certificate… I can’t remember. Minimum? Varies place to place. Best thing to do is call and ask.
