Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I am a fine photographer who has been asked to make t-shirts and sweaters with my images. Would you mind sharing what may be the best method(s) to print high quality image onto a shirt and sweater?(30-60 washes: with good care) I am trying out Inkjet heat transfer, because I already own a fine art photographic printer (not sure how long it will last) with my cricut easy press. It has been working well, but seeking out some other options. Thank you in advance!

inkjet transfers will not give you the results your looking for. the printer can be the best of the best but its ultimately the paper that lacks the quality. im only speaking from my experience with inkjet transfers. what you have to remember is your printer isnt printing White. so you are limited to only using white shirts. you need a transfer that will print sharp with great clarity. Supacolor is the only transfer company i know that can accomplish that. next option would be dtg printing. but as far as sharpness and clarity supacolor wins.

@@BigBrandoh thank you for your reply. So funny because I am watching your update video on sample pack from supercolor. So in regards to the inkjet transfer, Neenah 3G Jet Opaque is able to transfer onto darker shirts. I've been testing about 10 prints so far. They come out great in regards to sharpness and clarity. But the longevity could be an issue(my washing test will tell in the future no doubt) I need to look into supercolor and dtg. Need to see the cost differences in between the two options. I'm going to assume dtg is more expensive?

think of it like this. are you willing to sacrifice quality for convenience? but like i said if you the paper and prints you use now work for you. thats good. but remember your not printing white ink, youre transfering a color image onto white paper and pressing that paper on. the difference in all of this is white ink. but you ultimately figure out whats best for you and what you wanna offer your customers. machine wash and machine dry will always be the best test. cuz even if you tell a customer to hang dry, they dont listen hahahahahaaa

As soon as you create a dba /biz license and get a tax id you will be required to start paying taxes after the 1st 3 months...at least that's how it was for me in NY. So i suggest start working on your ideas, or come up with a name and you can change it later.

hard for me to answer that. i dont live in your same state so i dont know the requirements. as far as which one to pjck, i dont know what you are registering. do you have a business partner? are you filing for an LLC, Corp? your best bet is to ask your state/county what is needed and required for your state/county. i live in Los Angeles. my process is dba, ein, resell permit, business license.
