Buzkashi game as part of a local summer Naadam festival in Altai region of Western Mongolia 🇲🇳
Western Mongolia is home to Mongolia's ethnic Kazakh population. Renowned for their famous eagle hunters and other traditions such as Buzkashi and Kyz Kuu!
Traditionally, the game is played between teams with the aim of placing an animal skin (normally a calf or goat) inside a goal. This was an abbreviated version of "Tudabarai" Buskashi where just two riders fought for control of the skin. In the tudabarai form of the game, the aim is to grab the goat and move in any direction until clear of the other player instead of placing it within any kind of goal.
