I was 20 and in Isla Vista visiting friends the night this massacre took place. We were just a couple of blocks from where he killed people as he drove by. The terrifying thing is that my friends and I would have been out walking the street Elliot was driving on had I not been curling my friends’ hair. It was nighttime, and everyone wanted dinner. But we wanted to finish getting ready to go out. I can’t recall if I heard the gunshots, but I heard lots of police cars, ambulances and helicopters. My friends and I obviously didn’t end up leaving the house that night. We locked the doors, turned off all the lights, and made spaghetti. It was so scary. Rest In Peace to the lives lost that night, along with the thousands of people lost in 9/11 twenty years ago today.

i read his manifesto briefly out of curiosity, it's suuuuuper long so didn't end up reading most of it but it's filled with very misogynistic/racist outlook. the point of why he wasn't able to get girls wasn't his looks or awkwardness, it was his condenscending and very odd view of women (his target) and men (his competition). the fact that he's considered a hero within the incel community makes me scratch my head. instead of working on your flirting skills you take it out on innocent people who never consented to be involved in your self-pitying autobiography.

Society and people push people to become this way it takes years. You basically have a situation like an outcast whose bullied and snaps and instead of blaming the bullies you blame the guy for losing it. You don't even seem to understand this messed up unbalanced society pushes guys to this
"If bullying was the cause for creating mass murderers/school shooters - then every assailant would be a poc, LGBTQ+, nuero divergent, and/or differently-able person. Entitlement creates these killers. In their view, the world promised them something that was their birth right and they were being denied that, and they couldn't tolerate that." BULLYING DOES NOT CREATE KILLERS. STOP THIS NARRATIVE. EDIT: Obviously I'm speaking in generalized terms. Surely, there are killers who have been bullied, but the majority who have been bullied don't become mass murderers/school shooters. Same thing with mental illness, the majority of mentally ill people don't do these kinds of crimes so I personally believe the media should stop pushing these narratives when reporting on theses cases. Also, we can't ignore there is a certain demographic that commit these kinds of crimes in the U.S., and I don't think its a coincidence that the culturally most privileged people are generally the ones who commit these murders. To put it simply, these cis-het white men are killing b/c of entitlement. It's okay if you don't agree though, have a nice day.

I like this video, but I definitely prefer MumkeyJones’ approach of ridiculing him. This video seems to try to make Rogers look cool, like some calculated killer when he’s anything but. Making him look cool might just inspire copycats tbh. Elliot Rogers doesn’t deserve a video that describes what he did in detail with clean editing and cool music. He deserves to be ridiculed for every action he did. His channel was taken down, but I definitely recommend MumkeyJones’ videos on him. He mercilessly makes fun of every mistake Elliot did, and he made a ton of them. For example, he never even killed anyone popular. Literally all of his murders were against other unpopular kids. If I remember correctly, I believe he even knocked on the door of a girl’s room at some point (or club? I don’t remember), but he literally walked away when no one answered. Elliot’s “retribution” is almost as comical as it is sad and pathetic.

This is just pure sexism and trying to blame women, this is why I didn't want them bringing attention to this dude. The biggest problem to come out of this story is OTHER MEN AND BOYS who have taken inceldom and hatred of women as a lifestyle and have indoctrinated each other online. I've seen it with my own eyes and we've all come across incel attacks, most recently in the UK. Stop trying to put blame on girls when the thousands of people who look up to him are men and boys.

Side note: thank you for advocating that everyone try therapy in their life if they can. So many people go a lifetime never even considering maybe they should look into it and blunder on thinking there’s no issues to look at, when really we all have them.

As a Torontonian, I remember the very day he killed and hurt all those innocent people. It sent a ripple of confusion, sadness and anger throughout our community. :( He rented a van for his attack and drove down a major road, near a major intersection killing people of all ages. :( What a disgusting excuse for a human being. I despise him for his horrific cruelty and should not even be named.

There have been 2 incel attacks in Toronto. A 17 year old stabbed women in a massage parlor, and a man took a van and drove it onto the sidewalk. I myself had to report a person to the police after they compared women to cattle and wished guns were more accessible.

So both of these men couldn't get laid? That's what that word "incel" means.

We had to watch his last video in my forensic psychology class and everyone started laughing. Not because it was funny, but it was so surreal -- he was so delusional and I've never seen anything like that, it was out of discomfort and pure confusion when people started laughing.

So ignoring all the deeply upsetting views that he and other have against women for a moment. 1) He was able to purchase firearms when was known for having mental health issues. 2) He was reported to police by his own mother, police showed up at his door and he was allowed to keep his guns. Things like this are the reason why gun violence is so high in the US. I don't understand why the USA doesn't have better measures for dealing with these issues.
