patrick maloney I once threw up blood. When I went to the doctor they looked at my mouth and touched my belly and that’s it. No tests or anything. They sent me home saying I just had a scratch in my throat. I had a stomach ulcer. No one though about it cause I was only 18 (I was really freaking stressed at that time). Took them like 4 days to figure out I wasn’t ok

My dad has to literally grab the doctor by the collar and physically threaten him before he called for any tests. Like wait times tho, your finger could be falling off and you'd have to wait 9 days to get it stitched back on, like sure it's free for y'all, but I ain't about to wait 9 days to fix an injury

I'm from South Africa. TB is a big problem here, so I think you would have been helped almost immediately over here. It is possible that American doctors are not as familiar with the symptoms of tb as they are here. Also, the representative who came to witness you take your meds is necessary, as defaulting can make you succeptable to Multi-drug resistant tb, which cannot be treated as effectively and risks you infecting others.

Anna Reese it said in the video they tested for it and it came back negative. That’s bc TB is difficult to test for. However, someone coughing up blood is never a casual affair and should have been taken more seriously than how it was described here. It is a sign of a number of complications even if it wasn’t TB.

I can relate so much! For a long time I was really sick and nobody took me seriously. Finally, when the doctors suspected leukemia, they were still very unhelpful. For example, they spilled my own blood all over me when drawing it, and one doctor joked to my mom "well, it wouldn't be a home run for leukemia, but..." Who says that to a mother who is fearing for her child's life??

He honestly should sue some of his docs for malpractice! They should’ve given a test gauntlet for this because coughing up blood regularly is always bad! Hell doing it in general is bad! This immediately implies something is wrong in the respiratory &/or gastric system! Both extremely integral parts of your body! Those doctors who sent you away were extremely negligent and should feel bad for holding off doing tests and potentially starting a new TB epidemic!

Omg. Great thing you’re ok! If I would have seen you/someone coughing up blood anywhere I would have helped! That’s just the right thing to do....make sure your fellow human being is ok and safe....especially when they could possibly be dying. I feel really bad that no one helped you...some people these days are just too selfish about their time...they would rather get wherever they are going on time instead of helping someone who could possibly be dying! I mean I’d totally get it if the person isn’t hurt that badly...but when you see someone possibly dying?!?!? WHY “IGNORE” THAT!
