It is the contactor. I've had the same problem. IMO, the sound could be due a loss of strength in the EM field generated by the coil in the contactor. Just change the contactor with one with similar properties, usually they are coils of 24Volts working for 30, 40 amps in 240Volts.

i did (mentioned in notes) when i disassembled the contactor, there was a bug mashed inside it ;)

contactor workes with electronic magnet git a difrent style contactor and try it ..the buzz is the eletrick coil thet pulls in contactor ..some are loude some are quiet..

This is common in the south with ants getting into the contactor.

When in doubt use compressed air to clean contactor and area.
