I believe that the big spenders are tourists from other Eastern countries. That is why Walking Street largely caters to those tourists. They are more willing to pay WS prices. The Indian clubs are largely there because indians are harshly discriminated against and are often refused from many bars and agogos. Us Brits are just cheap, so we don't generally want to pay WS prices haha.

The sidewalk situation does present a real risk of injury. Poor sidewalks, obstructed sidewalks and no sidewalks are a real hazard. Maintaining situational awareness is key. If you're a little older and not as steady on your feet as you used to be or you're deep in your cups, then hire transport. There are a wide variety of options. You can't have fun if you don't stay safe.

About keeping yourself hydrated . Totally agree with that . When i was in Thailand in January this year , i packed 6 tubes of hydrolyte tablets into my suitcase . Very handy to have with you , when you are out walking around and you go and buy a bottle of water from the 7/11

The thing is, they did a great job on beach road, especially on the beach side, but actually on the bar side of the road they left the footways very narrow compared to the number of people walking up and down them

What matters is not how many foreigners come here but how much do they spend.... I would guess that 1 UK tourist/ expat spends the same as 10 Indians.

Sorry Trev but the tourist figures do not add up. The totals of the top 5 only add up to just over 16 million, thats only half of what the TAT are reporting. I have been there twice this year and very noticeable the lack of Chinese tourists, so i think someone in the Thai government has issues with calculations. i watch a few channels on Pattaya nightlife and i see a lack of tourists in general. So i am not sure where the people are getting their figures from, but it is not true.

Very useful advice for both newbie's and alleged Pattaya 'Experts', the not showing Gold is in fact 'Gold Advice' had a friend who was an Expat get dragged down lots of Soi 6 by his heavy gold chain, whilst he should have known better, it was simply stupidity (he as a Soi 6 Bar owner at the time), he lost his chain, also almost his life. If you wear gold, Thai women think you are loaded, so expect higher prices, so double interest in your hard earned income extraction prospects. If you were on the web 17 years ago, you would have saved me tens of thousands Baht. probably hundreds., got done by the Taxi Tout scammer, lost Bt3000, freelance BJ scammer just north of Soi 2, on the beach. All I can say is that they got up early that day, because they got me, not greener than Robin Hoods N01 uniform, but Rabbit in the headlights.

You will know this Expat as he was well known, as being a former Royal Marine, but even he got taken to the cleaners by a Thai Lady. I timk PA was the omly up'N coming frum, nut the old Dexterhorm was the only available content at the time. Well outdated at that point. Having travelled to a few countries , where the sidewalks are so bad or non existent , i find if you are forced to walk on the road , the safest way to do it , is to walk on the side with the traffic coming at you . Having said that i will be in Pattaya in January next year for 3 nights , there to celebrate Australia Day on Jan 26th

It doesn't seem to be. The 6 million Chinese who visit Thailand this year are not in Walking Street, as you can see if you watch another video filmed there recently. Many bars are closed and there aren't many people. Walking Street is very quiet. Patong, Phuket seems to be busier. And many people go to other countries. 24 million people visit the Canary Islands this year and 20 million go to Mallorca.

Walking street is not nice. Just stayed in a great hotel at the end of it, but walked on 2nd street rather than on Walking Street. Even then, the whole place just feels like it has suffered an Indian invasion,and all you see are Indian restaurants and businesses. All traces of Thailand disappeared almost completely after covid when it seems they took advantage of all the businesses going belly up and grabbed the lot! Other areas in Pattaya are nicer than Walking Street.
