Here's a tidbit of trivia: "America's Top Trader" Monty Hall was actually born in Canada. Also originally from Canada, Alex Trebek.

I wonder where Monty was getting those $500 bills, as the Federal Reserve system eliminated bills denominated above $100 in 1969. I suspect they had a small supply of $500 and $1000 notes and kept them at the end of the show, paying the contestants with a check.

Loved watching this game show as a kid. The costumes, the deals and the mystery's behind the doors. Just a fun show!

I think Lets Make a Deal is the only game show where the announcer and MC have to share the same microphone.
@Tre4046 жыл бұрын
Jay is WAY too busy lugging around tables full of household products to also be able to carry a wired microphone around.

That yellow sign reading 10SNE1 could have been the inspiration for Bumper Stumpers.

The Buick Apollo (later called Skylark) replaced the large Skylark for the 1973 model year. Based on the Nova.

That pricing deal was the precursor to "The Grand Game" on "The Price is Right".

@@tinamarie86 I'll give you $100 cash or what's behind the big curtain if you can tell me if it was a left shoe or a right... $200 more if you can also tell me the size and the color. Or you can go for the big box where Carol Merrill is standing!

23:30 I hope he ultimately gave that woman an extra $50 bucks or the entire $150. She was correct! ~Queen~
@willoughby18887 ай бұрын
Wrong. He asked how much cash was on the board behind the slacks and shoes, which was $8567, not how much was the final deal worth, $8775. She would have been right if that's what he had asked though. She was just to excited to hear what he asked her was all.

Adjusted for inflation, $8,500 in 1974 is worth about $45,000 today.

Most food and gas prices about 9x-10x more. Car about 8x more. I’d say closer to 70k-75k

Some of those players get too greedy for the curtain without thinking.I remember a donkey being one prize behind the curtain.Some of those curtain prizes are junk.
@blindsportslover4 жыл бұрын
Michelle Post I know. But I seem to detect a pattern. It seems like every third curtain prizes a zonk. Do any contestants noticed that? I would've probably taken the money and be good with that.
