Thanks to Buzzr for making it possible for people like me to see this episode on the air several months ago when they showed it in the regular rotation on their network. I was able to see it for the first time with absolutely no prior knowledge of this incident. I got to experience it just like the original viewers did and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I would say, it wasn’t so much the answer, as much as the befuddlement he must have felt that any contestant could misunderstand the context of a question that badly, as to give the name of a calendar month as opposed to an answer one would expect, such as “the sixth month”. Her answer due to the misunderstanding subverted all expectations so much, nobody could help but to immediately start cracking up with laughter.

By far, the very best host of the show bar none..we always joked that Richard was going to catch something kissing all the ladies and he did..he found a wife on one of the shows, vowed that he wouldn't kiss anyone else and, as I understood it, he never did!! I think there are a lot of young people on here that were not alive when Richard Dawson was on this show. He was known as the kissing bandit so he kissed all women regardless of skin color. He only stopped after he got married. His wife was a contestant at the time he had kids and they asked him why do you kiss other women besides mommy so he stopped. Lots of women wanted to be kissed by him plus no one was offended like people would be today. Plus he was British and could care less what people thought.
