Entered Round 2 with THREE Whammies, and won $33,380 in cash and prizes, thanks in large part to surviving a gauntlet that SHOULD have finished him off. Odds of hitting a Whammy are 1 in 6. If the odds held true, Michael would've Whammied Out on the 3rd-to-last spin of that 8 spin gauntlet.

That was the third highest one day total in the show's history, behind $33,410 in a 1984 episode and Larsen, unless something happened in SUmmer 1986 that is unknown.. $35K was lost to a Whammy in SUmmer 1986.

June 1986 to be exact, when that $35,000 loss happened. It is now known that Trish, the woman who suffered that loss, returned in June 1986; her original run was in December 1985. The interesting thing is that the photos on Getty Images seemed to indicate that Trish actually returned for two days, and not one as initially thought. One image has only her name displayed in position #3, and another has Jo Goodlo as one of her opponents with Trish in position #1.
